What I am saying is my situation is not the typical where I am trying to use Paypal to unload money and asking to get money back in return or transferring it to one of their other Paypal accounts which is how people are trying to use Paypal for MS. Again I am not using Paypal for MS. I just wanted to know that there is an option to be able to pay someone via Paypal Cash card and get some CC points vs. paying through bank account and get nada.

Fair enough.

Just a suggestion here: layoff the "dude, calm down" introduction when someone is taking the time to reply to your post.

I've used a PP reload to fund my longstanding paypal account and pretty soon thereafter (within hours) transferred to pay back a friend. Encountered no issues, sample size of 1.

I am maxed out on AP, BB, and Serve so looking at the Paypal card I bought during the CVS promo for $50 back last month to unload my VR's.

Has anyone loaded this card and unloaded on Paypal to fund Kiva loans? I am wondering if I have a history of funding large amounts with a credit card in the past, if this would raise a red flag?

My one concern is that you refer to $4.95 fee for the paypal card. That is the fee for the paypal prepaid mastercard. I think (but I could be wrong) you're talking about the paypal cash card $3.95. if not, you should be as it's a dollar cheaper.

Yes it was my mistake. I just assumed it was the $4.95. I realize now after looking at the Paypal My Cash card in person that it is indeed only $3.95.

Anyways I made my Paypal My Cash card purchase today of $500 with a $3.95 service charge at CVS and loaded it to my Paypal account with no issue.

Just curious about this 30 revolving day thing for the $4000 limit. So if you buy 8 Paypal cash cards with $500 each for a total of $4000 and lets say you load them 8 days in a row, when does the counter reset for the next month? Is it 30 days from the last card that you hit $4000?

Say for example I buy 8 Paypal cash cards on Jan 1 and load all 8 paypal cash cards by Jan 8 loading 1 per day and complete my $4000 for the Jan month, does this mean that if I bought another Paypal cash card that the earliest I can start to load a new $4000 for the next month is Feb 8th? That would be 30 days since Jan 8 when I would hit 4 I am just asking this for information only.

You can start over again on Feb 1st as long as load amount <$4000 in the rolling 30 days.

Just be cautious to actually count the days when you plan ahead, as it's 30 calendar days and some months have less or more than 30 days.

Paying taxes with PayPal Business Debit Card

Hi All--Searched through the thread and found only a handful of posts related to paying federal taxes with a PayPal Business Debit Card. A few scattered reports of it failing but wanted to bring this topic back up as tax season is around the corner and I'd love to get 1% cashback on top of the 5x TY points I'm earning on buying the PayPal load cards at CVS.

I've tried PayUSAtax which would be great with only a $3.49 flat fee for my $2,995 tax payment but it rejects my PayPal Business Debit Card saying this card won't work. Can anyone post experiences on other tax payment sites and whether they've been successful or not?

Thanks!

I tried and couldn't get it to work. I tried Pay1040.com and PayUSAtax.com, since those are the ones that advertise a flat rate fee for MC debit. I did not try OfficialPayments, since their fee is a percentage of your payment.

Reports have been that the main prepaid debit cards that actually works for this is MVD or GOBank.

It seems my current Paypal Debit Mastercard accounts are now involuntarily closed, and I'll get a check for the remaining balance (<$50, so no big deal) in the next 1 to 20 days. I got two cards during the CVS extrabucks promotion, and figured I'd try going slow with them to see what happened.

After reaching the torrid pace of $1K/week for 3 weeks in a row, I could not load. I only used them for VR loads and WM purchases. Called in and was told risk mgmt decided i was no longer eligible for their services. No other info was provided. I had never linked these cards to any other PP accounts, so all my other PP accounts and bus debit card remain active. They said i was blocked from ever gettign PP debit MC cards in the future, but that is currently unconfirmed.

I found a 7-11 where I could purchase Paypal My Cash cards using my Chase Freedom card for 5x UR points this quarter (up to $1500). I've loaded the $1500 to my Paypal Business Debit card for use for regular purchases. This will essentially give me 5 UR points per $ spent + the 1% cash back on signature purchases.

Anyone using the Business Debit card for regular purchases without moving the money loaded into their Paypal account to their checking account or BB account? Any occurrences of Paypal review/shutdown with this approach?

WhateverDude Jan 8, 2014 11:35 am

I've had uneventful luck making pin based debit purchases with the PP Bus Debit at WM for the past several months without any hiccups. I love shopping there.

I have a biz paypal debit MC and never got the 1% cash back from buying MOs. Is that the case for everyone else? Plus I don't see anything mention about cash back program under my paypal account.
