I assume your card is still active and allowing you to make payments? I am very curious as how long has it been like this? I was forced to add in SSN the second month after they disabled AP functions.

There has been a tightening of internal controls over at AP. Some interesting and profitable opportunities have been shut down. AP changed account processing logic to eliminate some magic card tricks.:td:

Best get your Plan B up and active. First the beans got burnt and now there are puffs of smoke coming from the rainforest.

**Update - another puff of smoke in the jungle. Transaction failed even though within the monthly transaction limits for the two accounts involved. In the past transactions flagged "Pending" regularly cleared.**

Anyone else gone native in the jungle seeing signs of changes?

Yes, although I'm unsure in which timezone the cut-off is. Therefore I try to get all my transactions done before the last day of the month in order to not accidentally dip into next month's allotment.

Last week I did a transaction at 12:06AM Eastern time, and noticed that it posted at 9:06PM the previous day. So I assume Amazon uses Pacific time.

Makes sense, considering they're based in Seattle.

Forget about hours, they have been known to roll "days" on longer months.

Always do your transfers between day 1-29.

I got screwed one month when I did it on day 31, at like 10AM. It counted against the following month's limit.

Love to hear what further info re what got shut down that you can share- please PM

I guess folks are justifiably unwilling to share their AP "secrets," but it sure seems like less than a sure-fire gift card "processing" service to me. It's actually a PITA: I never seem to know when my payments will work, or when I'll get the "fail" message.

has anyone had any success using gift/ debit cards sold by vanilla to send an Amazon payment? I know debit/ gift cards issued by metabank do work

lilpooh108 Nov 17, 2012 10:48 am

In the past I've been able to charge my Citi Amex Business, Chase PC and BOA Cash Rewards on AP w/o a cash advance fee.

I'm getting 2 new cards in next week: Chase Hyatt & Citi Visa. Does anyone have recent info on whether those cards are subject to cash advance categorization?

I saw a post a few pages back on a fee imposed for the Citi Visa, but I thought maybe that poster selected the wrong category.

Input appreciated, thanks.

Citi Visa still works for me. I used it this month in AP without CA fee.
