SIN-KUL
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2dc3f13bf5.jpg Chicken curry. I believe same options, curry and sandwich, were on both flighs. KUL-LGK https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2c915bd37b.jpg Chicken sandwich. Crews were great on both short hops, offering drink refills until the last moment. |
KUL - CDG

Chef On Call supper served an hour after takeoff: Tandoori chicken. Tasteless and dry. Disappointing https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ac11ae28c.jpeg Midnight snack: Chicken and prawn soup noodles. Comforting https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...98401d112.jpeg Breakfast served 3 hours before landing: Nasi Lemak. Delicious as always For Chef on Call, I would recommend the Balinese chicken as a better alternative if you still like to stick to local flavours. It was tart and refreshing. |

CGK KUL catering was again very meh, with mostly cheapish local options. The fish was dry and well oversalted. No competition for the 9 daily CGK SIN by SQ, but better than what Garuda is serving on those routes.

wow MH even serves a hot meal on SIN-KUL?
Thats impressive such a short flight. |
I flew KUL AKL on the new A339 and while the hard product is excellent (I found it better than the suite with door on the QR 787-9 I had recently flown), that is where to good news ends as the inflight service offerings were disappointing at best:
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ac82b1dbd.jpeg Although the departure time was 9pm, there was no dinner service but rather an uninspiring shortened supper: https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f990f133b.jpeg Sate - turned out to be the highlight of the supper https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...02b3578f9.jpeg Tuna starter - acceptable but nothing special https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ec356fe18.jpeg Inedible greasy main course Meanwhile, that sugar bomb sitting there wrapped in plastic was supposedly the dessert. I didn't touch it, and I noticed some other sent it back unopened as well. About seven hours later, it was breakfast time, and yet another uninspiring meal came out of the galley: https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5f592b359.jpeg All in all a very underwhelming experience. The inflight entertainment, meanwhile, is also not much to talk about in comparison with the competition. While MH has a great product with its new A339, many other aspects of what is supposedly the airline's premium experience leave a lot to be desired. |
I noticed the menu now includes Illy coffee. Is this real coffee beans or instant coffee? I'm not expecting espresso drinks on MH. Just standard drip coffee is the bare minimum for Business class, in my view. It's absolutely insulting that MH serves instant coffee in Business class. Can someone please confirm the type of Illy coffee served?

Snack at best. Used to be maybe a few sticks of satay decades ago. It's only 201 miles and just over 1/2 hr in the air.
|
Would be very happy with satay on a 45 mins flight!

What's the latest on Satay service in J on shorter routes such as KUL-HKG/TPE/MNL etc? Curious if that is still a service that is provided these days.
