I thought service at all levels at the Wynn was pretty good by US standards, would stay there again (and have). The only thing that frosted my polarizers was the fact that they do tend to nickel and dime you here and there. For example, they charged me 5 bucks or so to deliver a package that was FedExed to the hotel. Pretty crass, considering the overall quality of the physical plant and service.
As for food and such, many choices. I found the DB restaurant a disappointment, but really liked the upscale Chinese one. Amazing pool, but if you want to rent one of the "apartment" cabanas, be prepared to pay room-rate levels for the privilege. Very welcome "adults only" topless pool in the back, with requisite hottie hotel employee setting the example, much appreciated.

Nah...medicine... we know that x-rays aren't black and white but various shades of grey.
I just wanted to let the other posters know that they shouldn't be worried about staying there. But as I said, if they are dissuaded, there's more space for those of us who enjoy staying at the Wynn.

Stayed in a Two-Bedroom Penthouse at the Bellagio this past spring, very nice. I have only "visited" the Wynn so its not a direct comparison. I feel though that all signs point to the Wynn. The Bellagio is very nice (especially the pool), but the Wynn is a half-step up in my book.

I've been to both just recently at the Wynn Towers. Not really Towers just side portion of floors. I found nothing exclusive about the Towers. In fact it seemed like there was no hint of exclusive at all. Dining was marginal at the property and we much more enjoyed the the Eiffel restaurant at Paris. My associates seemed to have a much better time in their regular rooms (aka more excited about the digs) than I. The concierge did print my Southwest boarding pass while we were at dinner. I would retreat to Bellagio over the Wynn any day.

if you get bored at the wynn there is now a bridge directly connecting to the venetian palazzo which has even more great shops and restaurants. the strip is tilting towards the wynn and away from mgm and mandalay bay.

I'll report back one way or another...just an fyi...we are just staying in the "regular side", not the towers side...unless we get upgraded via booking with virtuoso, which I doubt!

I have stayed at the Wynn numerous times in almost all room and suite categories, with the exception of: Executive Suite, Villa, and private apartment (not advertised). I wouldn't call any of the Wynn rooms a good value by Vegas standards, but I think the Parlor Suites are the best room for the money. The Resort and Tower rooms are identical and a bit boring, and the Salon Suite is just way too huge unless you're hosting a bachelor party or traveling with the family. Parlor is just right...
I can tell you that the service at the Tower side is not particularly different than the Resort side. The Tower employees are perhaps slightly more polished and have "European" style training, but the hotel is simply far too large to offer a true 5-star experience to anyone except a casino whale. It is nice to have a quiet secluded lobby and a private pool, but it's just not worth the extra bucks unless you're spending all day at the pool.
An example of poor service: I called the concierge in advance of my arrival to arrange for a Rolls Royce transfer from the airport. My request was met by giving me the phone number to a private limo company while telling me the Phantoms are reserved for casino guests. I asked why they park them prominently outside the Tower entrance as if they are hotel cars if they are only available to VIPs. He was dumbfounded that I would even ask that question. I was dumbfounded that he wouldn't arrange a car for me, and wanted to just give me a phone number and do the work myself. Why exactly is this place rated 5 stars? I have no idea.
Anyhoo, the only reason I return to Wynn is that they do have, hands down, the nicest rooms in Vegas (Skylofts excluded). The property is high class and it attracts a different crowd than the Excaliburs and New York-New Yorks of the strip. The food runs the gamut from overpriced and average to overpriced and excellent. By far the best bang for the buck is Terrace Point, Wynn's version of a coffee shop. It's not super fancy and isn't staffed by a famous chef, but dollar for dollar it's the best food at the hotel. (don't take this the wrong way...it's not the best restaurant, just the best food for the value).
I've eaten at all Wynn restaurants except Red 8 and Bartolotta. The only one I consistently return to is DB Brasserie. Several people on this forum have said they are disappointed by DB. I have a suspicion people are expecting it to be like Daniel, which it's not. It's a relaxed and casual brasserie with simple dishes that taste good. The wine selection is great, the service is friendly, and you don't need a second mortgage to pay the bill.
You will most definitely have a great time at Wynn. However, if you're looking for a true 5-star experience, the only one in Vegas is Four Seasons.

Wynn has a policy (whether it's official or not I don't know), but they automatically upgrade EVERYONE to a Panoramic View room if you just ask for it (assuming they have availability). They will not, however, upgrade you from the Resort side to the Tower side, nor will they upgrade you to a suite. You can however negotiate a discounted price to be bumped to a suite - oftentimes for a good 25%-50% off the website rate. As in my previous post, the only suite that's a decent size for the price is Parlor.

I have dined at Red 8, Terrace Point, the buffet, the Country Club, and DB Brasserie. I thought the buffet was good, the Terrace Point also good, Red 8 fantastic if not expensive, the Country Club disappointing and DB Brasserie terribly disappointing. My expectations were in check for DB (I was not expecting Restaurant Daniel) but I was not expecting to pay $24 for 4 spears each of white and green asparagus. The food was either over seasoned or underseasoned and was really not that good.
We may give Wynn another try some other day -- for now, we are content to eat at Red 8 and perhaps try Okada and some of the other restaurants. But hotel wise I think there are better choices.

The name Four Seasons still stands for excellent quality and I never had a bad stay with them worldwide. Even though some of their properties are a bit older (YVR) they make it up with charme and service.
Vegas is the worst place on earth for hotel ratings, sometimes I have the impression that various people in that business leave the town with some extra cash But again with the FS you are on the safe side !

luxury's last report from FS wasnt great, and IIRC a handful of others responded and said they felt it had gone downhill recently.
skylofts seems to be best regarded here, but it does occasionally get mixed reports. and no pool etc.
it will be interesting to see how MO and harmon turn out.
re wynn dining, Pickles made the comment that wing lei was the best chinese theyve had outside of china.
