Las Vegas - Compare Bellagio and Wynn suites?

I haven't been to Vegas for a few years, am planning to go back for a few days in October. I wonder if anyone can tell me which choice is better:

Bellagio suite.
Parlor suite at the Wynn.

I've looked at Venetian and Trump, and their suites are not comparable.

you might consider skylofts as well.

I haven't stayed in those suites in particular, but overall I have found the Wynn to be a better hotel than Bellagio.

Thanks, I don't like the black/white checker tile pattern on the floor.

I've stayed in the 1 BR and 2 BR Lofts at SkyLofts as well as the Salon Suite at Wynn. The Salon Suite at Wynn is very nice but the service is the greatest downfall of Wynn. I find that MGM makes you feel more VIP as a SkyLofts guest than does Wynn as a Tower Suites guest.

Having stayed in both suites, I prefer the Parlour Suite. It has a large bathroom and closet area while the Bellagio suite has gentleman's and ladies' bathrooms which are rather cramped (relatively speaking). Bellagio suite is also rather narrow compared to the Wynn parlour suite. Checkin is horrendous at Bellagio where you are mixed in with the convention crowd even with the Invited Guest check-in. It's a zoo. Tower Suites checkin is much more civilized.

Skylofts is nice but it's still in MGM Grand...

Have stayed in a Bellagio suite, no problems checking in at the invited guests' counter. However I found the service disappointing despite my booking through lhw. On the other hand I found the service at the Venezia Tower Concierge level excellent, agree though that my Venetian suite was ordinary.

We stayed at the Wynn Suites and felt that the room was quite nice, but the service was awful. I wouldn't go back.

Wynn v Bellagio

Stayed in a Parlor Suite at Wynn and a 1-bed at Bellagio. I much prefer Wynn's suites because you get a separate check-in when you opt for a suite in the Tower. At Bellagio you have to line up with everyone else.

Unfortunately, although the suites are very roomy at Wynn, the service and the food are disappointing.

I much prefer staying in the casino-free Four Seasons Las Vegas, then popping through the private door into the neighbouring Mandalay Bay if I feel like losing some money. Four Seasons' service is way above anything you find along the rest of the Strip, although when Mandarin Oriental open, there could be competition (same owner, MGM, and also casino-free).

We are staying at the Wynn over labor day weekend...the physical property looks great, but now I'm a little nervous about the service...can anyone shed some light on what the issues were?

Rude front desk (We made the mistake of checking in at the regular desk, not the Towers desk, so that shouldn't be a problem for you.), Amex Platinum amenity not offered, requests to speak to a manager never returned. The Towers staff offered to knock $100 off our room bill when we complained. I'm still waiting, but after two years, I'm not that hopeful.

We thought the floor staff was okay, not great.

I am also getting nervous about Wynn from the feedback on service so far from the people around here, and from tripadvisor. If you do carry out your plan and stay there over labor day weekend, would you come back and share your experience?

I wouldn't worry about the Wynn. Service is great. There will always be a few glitches here and there in any hotel. I go to Vegas to gamble, eat and shop; not to be waited on hand and foot by hotel employees. If your main goal is to have a great time in Vegas, Wynn really has no peer IMO. The combination of the restaurants, hotel amenities, casino and the average guest quotient (i.e no screaming kids or people dragging coolers around) makes it a great place. The other five star hotels are good too but I would hardly worry about staying at Wynn...I would be looking forward to it ! We've stayed there twice a year since it opened.

The complaints about Wynn are mostly from people who stay on the Resort side who expect VIP service, those who worry about how much everything costs while they're on vacation and those who just like to complain. I also wouldn't base an opinion on one stay because it could really go either way...

(I'm not discounting other posters' bad experiences but am adamant that people shouldn't avoid the Wynn based on scattered anecdotal evidence - but if they do, more room for us Wynn devotees...)
