speaking of FS sharm, anyone going should keep private rentals in mind. i saw one site that had 2BR suite for $400 (same as hotel inventory) and 4BR+ villa with pool for $1000 (odd FS doesnt rent)

-- The Madinaty Four Seasons Golf Resort in Cairo, Egypt will include 180 rooms.
-- The Luxor Four Seasons Hotel in Luxor, Egypt will have 250 rooms and 100 villas within the ancient city and is in close proximity to the Luxor Temple. It will face the Nile River, with viewable access from the balconies.

-- The Sharm El Sheikh Four Seasons Hotel expansion in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt will double the number of hotel rooms and add 50 villas, as well as an 18-hole golf course, to this world-class hotel, which is known to many visitors of Egypt's Red Sea tourist region.
They will not double the number of rooms at FS Sharm. The 2-bed rentals that FS had been letting out to guests are now all sold so will be coming off the hotel rental pool. In order to cater to families, FS needed to replace these rooms, so the owner has bought the land to one side of the hotel and will build around 25 units plus a new stand-alone spa. The golf will be built either side of the long drive up to the hotel.

Thanks Kagehitokiri. We are planning a family trip to Egypt and the 2 beds might work for us at Sharm.

Pauldublin, you might consider doing a private rental, i saw them (2BR suites) for $400. villas (4BR plus staff BR) with private pool were only $1000..

francophile, thanks for the link. ^ definitely some nice accommodations. i wonder whether FS seychelles and bora bora are going to rent their residences.

interesting pictures of FS seychelles >

I have heard similar comments from out of town clients as well as in dining there ourselves over the last months. I would recommend the Pen, Trump and park Hyatt over this property.

We spent 4 days in the Four Seasons Chicago a couple of weeks ago. I wrote up our stay in the thread in this forum dealing with that hotel. We had an excellent stay - which included an excellent meal at Seasons (think that was the name of the non-casual restaurant). Excellent attention to detail - including a bar which stocks diet tonic water in bottles (that was a first for me).

So what issues did/do any of you have with the place. On my part - my husband and I had a lovely stay. Robyn

More FS in India

FS appear to have plans for properties in Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Bangalore in India after the recent opening of the Mumbai property.

Under plans are FS in Luxor, Egypt and in the Ukraine:

"In addition, TMG has several major tourism projects including the Four Seasons Cairo at the Nile Plaza, Four Seasons San Stefano, Four Seasons Sharm El-Sheikh and the Nile Hotel. It recently won a concession for a piece of land in Luxor to build a Four Seasons there too. The company's reach beyond Egypt includes plans to build 18 hotels in Eastern Europe starting with a Four Seasons in Ukraine." Excerpt from article below

...developers have big plans for Tivat, a derelict port and former Yugoslav naval base in the tiny former communist country of Montenegro...On the site of an old warehouse, the Four Seasons is building its first Mediterranean resort, to open in 2010...

Visited Bahrain last week, and passed a huge billboard on my way to the airport. The billboard promoted the enormous Bahrain Bay project, and said it will include a Four Seasons Hotel, which will open it's doors in 2009.

Will the FS Beirut ever be finished? Or is it definately cancelled?

Does anyone know when the FS Dubai will open?

Allegedly, scandal has hit the owner of FS Sharm, Nile Plaza and Alexandria. He is currently accused of arranging the murder of his Labanese mistress. Bet Four Seasons are cringing over that. Could delay FS Luxor. In fact, you can bet it will.

FS Dubai is almost terminally delayed. The owners are doing very nicely with the golf set-up (beautifully run by FS) and there is no news on the hotel - they have yet to break ground.
