I didn't realize the FS Mumbai was viewed poorly.

Interesting that Park Hyatt is pushing into India and the RC is opening a property in Bangalore.

On another note, I see they have the FS Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake posted:

FS Hangzhou looks great. Nice idea that some suites open into a conservatory which might make it more of a 'year round' hotel bearing in mind the cold winters.

Is this very close to the city?

Interesting article with Sharp and the FS in Russia:

...a few of our projects have been frozen [eight according to Vedomosti’s calculations]...

...several of our hotels that were not seriously affected...Paris, Milan, Boston, Washington…

...For the first time in our history we have been forced to cut our expenses and lower prices...For examples, one of our big clients is Goldman Sachs. I offered them a special packet: if one of their employees stays with us for three days, the third night could be free. We have made it possible for our rooms to be booked through web sites such as expedia.com, which we didn’t do before.

...[St. Petersburg is] back on track...when the hotels in St. Petersburg and Moscow open, they will have a big impact on the city because their locations are 100 percent right...

...St. Petersburg...is scheduled for the second quarter, 2011...
interesting sharp chose to stay at RC instead of PH.

theyve offered 3rd nt free on corp rates.

65% of FS in development have residences. toronto condos are now 85% sold.

Appears to be located on West Lake, so not far probably from the Shangri-La?
If so, not walking distance to the centre, but certainly not very far by taxi/car.

To be fair, it was Shangri-La who originally posted the link to the article. Kage posted highlights of it for us so we didn't necessarily have to click on the link. Either way, thank you to both!!

Hyatt forum is full of those along with negative on Ritz here. As I experienced both, I would place Ritz higher then PH.

Sounds like a push.

The RC seems a little more Sharp's taste than the PH.

FS London - may open by March, 2011

This is the stuff of rumor - but there's a possibility that FS London may be reopened by March of 2011.

Interesting, because I was at FS Canary Wharf last week and was told it was on schedule for December 2010.
