We have to pray indeed. This "for sale" story is lasting too long now and I wonder why, despite all these uncertainities (and a major recession in the western world approaching with Asia collapsing afterwards too) Aman tries to expand out of its Asian strongholds.

When senior regional managers are leaving Aman (as it is the case just now) I don't take this as a good sign either. There is something wrong with all this. There is only one AZ - a genius can not be replaced. Should Aman mess up with the Middle Eastern "human rights specialists" they would become a definitive no go for many people.

Yes, either stem the departures .. It's been very disheartening to learn - & / or be open to beef up the management team with similar professionals ( with like minds ). That AZ will heed advice for future growth.

Seamless travel is now available between Paro, Bhutan and Tokyo, Japan

Three major airlines, ANA, JAL and TG, are now offering improved flight times between Tokyo and Bangkok airports, thereby allowing a much shorter transit time between arriving in the Thai capital, and boarding the Druk Air flight to Paro. Overnight stays in Bangkok are therefore no longer needed, as guests can now board their flight to Paro shortly after landing in Bangkok.

Amanjiwo

Hope this is the correct thread to ask this.

Does anyone knows the Amanjiwo's Borobudur suites faces which direction? And how is the view?

They face towards Borobudor, more or less. As for points on a compass, they face generally north, as amanjiwo is generally south of Borobudor, tucked up into the foot of the Menoreh Hills.

The suites are arranged in two concentric semi-circles, so the centerline of the suites will vary in their orientation, but the ones classified as Borobudor suites will have a view of the monument in the distance. The monument is actually a fair distance away, so you're definitely not going to have any sort of "close up" view, it will just be part of the landscape. Getting a Borobudor suite is probably worth it, as your view is not only of the monument but also all the fields sloping away from amanjiwo toward the monument, with the mountains (and on clear days the volcanoes) in the distance. It's a very pleasant view.

That said, I haven't stayed in any of the Garden Suites, which may be equally relaxing. They'll just have a much shorter field of vision, stopping more or less at the tree line surrounding the resort.

While browsing today the aman resorts main webpage , and most particularly the world map of its resorts ( http://www.amanresorts.com/worldmap.aspx), you can see that, despite the lack of info, there is a tag on Hawaii . Bug or website to be updated ?

Interesting, thank you!
But: If you click on French Polynesia/BoraBora, the point at Hawaii lights up (thanks, Kage!), so it's hard to interpret...

There was some speculation by paul2 (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/luxur...12-thread.html), that former Amanusa-GM Monty Brown is developing something in Hawaii. Maybe coming closer now...

They look out over the fields to Borobudur itself and are on the front row, so the view is superb.
