Interesting, thank you! There was some speculation by paul2 (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/luxur...12-thread.html), that former Amanusa-GM Monty Brown is developing something in Hawaii. Maybe coming closer now...
(And, as a total aside, I just returned from Las Vegas. I have concluded Vegas = the anti-Aman. Complete total polar opposites. Every time I go I hate it just a little bit more.)

apparently no airside transfer is a bummer

Same airfield but a private terminal. You have to exit the airport in order to get to the terminal. About 15 to 20 minutes in Aman provided transportation. Very easy.

Took us more than a half hour to get to the terminal (flying CX) on the way back because it was rush hour

Ditto. Was also told by the driver that I shouldn't bring my briefcase in the back seat as it may invite someone to try and open the door and steal it from us on the way. Wow. Isn't that what door locks are for? Apparently that doesn't stop anyone.

Good policy to follow also in Brazil by the way. Door locks are not very good at stopping someone with a firearm.

Not sure about the food now . The Chinese , has arguably the best Peking duck ( tried all from the ' top ' restaurants ) & Japanese were especially decent but this was 2 years ago.
