Amanruya now live on www.amanresorts.com
Can't wait to visit.
Having said that I am a bit surprised that they did not incorporate a Hamam - just a couple of spa suites - would have been great in this location.

[QUOTE=xracer;16518561]As someone who enjoys a nice spa and likes to use the gym (and I assume that there is also no gym), this is disappointing. In this day and age when such facilities are pretty much expected at every 5 star property, I am surprised that Aman would even let this situation occur.
I wonder when the spa/gym is scheduled to be built.[/Q
the existing facilities do include a gym and amanruyas spa will be ready for the next season since they want it to be a well designed and also well built facility.
i heard that the uniforms for staff is designed by a famous turkish fashion designer do any of you know who this might be??

Would Adrian Zecha be interested in this haunted hotel? Not sure. It is much cooler up in the mountains, so would work well in summer, less so in winter. Certainly a good site, by Mount Olympus. I suspect he looked at it, but then he looks at hundreds of potential sites.
If you look at the Greek/Cyprus investors that Aman work with - such as Aristo Developers who are a subsidiary of Dolphin Capital, then their Cyprus projects do not include Berengaria (or Verengaria) and there is no mention of management contracts, Aman included.

I am sure if there is any substance to any of this Gallivanters will let us know!

It seems to be located very near the painted churches of Troodos (a Unesco World Heritage site) - almost another must of Amans. It reminds me of the story of the New Oriental Hotel in Galle and its restoration into Amangalla.
I think Mr Zecha has a passion for historic properties - I remember Olivia Richli mentioning that he was trying to secure (sadly unsuccessfully) the Queen Hotel in Kandy and the Tintagel in Colombo, and then we have the rumours of the treasury building in Perth, as well as the one in Porto - Lisbon.
There may be something here?!
