Good point! I fear discussion is going in the wrong direction.

I am squarely to blame for that. My apologies.

I never thought I'd see Koufonisia mentioned in this forum!

Well I did not take your comment as judgemental per se. 17 hotels in 1 month is certainly a lot . But he's rather an adventurous type from what I know .

Eek, good to know! Any recs on potential room requests (i.e. is one side of the room better than the other)? We looked at staying in Waikiki but ultimately went FS because my friend has some friends who work for the hotel.

Sorry, wasn't trying to freak you out but it's always good to manage expectations and be pleasantly surprised vs. the other route

Ask for high floor ocean views facing the adult pool. If you can get on that side, it could basically block out view of Disney and its beach/crowds.
Should have an impact on noise reduction as well.

Have a great trip!!

Yeah I was more curious about it honestly. We are residents at one hotel and sometimes end up staying there for the entire month. But I couldn't possibly do 30 nights at 17 different hotels. I would be a wreck.

Also in one of the months he's staying at 17 hotels. Assuming generously that he's traveling for the whole month, that means 1.76 nights per hotel? That seems weird. Why would anyone stay 1.76 nights at different hotels for an entire month? I'd rather kill myself.
if you must know, i’ll be on a NYE trip from Dec 26-Feb 20, so I will be away the whole month. As for the January breakdown:

Saigon: TBD (1 night flying out of Phu Quoc and overnighting before flying out)
Hakuba: Courtyard Marriott (3 nights skiing)
Kyoto: Ritz Carlton (1 night seeing the city)
Kyoto: Hoshinoya Ryokan (1 night experiencing the ryokan)
Tokyo: Westin (3 nights)
Tokyo: Peninsula (1 night before departure)
Manila: Peninsula (2 nights before heading out)
Cebu City: Radisson I think? (2 nights, there to swim w whale sharks)
Panglao Island: TBD (arriving by ferry from Cebu, seeing the sights for the day, flying out to BKK via MNL)
Bangkok: Peninsula (overnight transit stop)
Luang Prabang: Amantaka (3 nights)
Chiang Rai: Four Seasons Golden Triangle (2 nights)
Chiang Mai: Anantara (3 nights)
Hong Kong: MO (2 nights)
Sydney: Shangri-La (overnight transit stop to decompress from long flight)
Ayers Rock: 131 Degrees (Ayers Rock is a 1 night sort of stop)
Melbourne: Park Hyatt (2 nights)

to the less angry poster that asked about Munich...arriving solo, most places booked during Oktoberfest. Booked Le Meridien solo before friends arrive. Booked altogether for 3 nights at the Westin, then when they depart decided to have a nice detox day at the Kempinski before flying out.

I'd love to know how you find time to enjoy the city and hotel you're staying in for one night (i.e., RC Kyoto). I mean that genuinely. I'm leaving for Florence on Saturday for three nights and am wondering if that's enough time. Ditto for Barcelona later this year.

I don’t really worry about enjoying the hotel (aside from the Ryokan). We’ll drop the bags there and spend the whole day seeing the city, then go somewhere off property for dinner and drinks. It’s nice to have a comfortable place to sleep where everything works properly and they can help you as needed. When it comes to tourism, I generally pack the tourist stuff into a regimented schedule the first time I visit a place so on subsequent visits I can just chill and enjoy being there/catching up with friends instead of needing to see things or tick boxes. I’d say three days is plenty if it’s your first time to Venice or Barcelona to eat some great food, see most of the sights and start to get a feel for the place.

3 nights in Barcelona are fine, in Florence it´s very tight.
