Visited in Oct of 2017. They had finished a refresh and it's solid (as far as for old school high-rise Hawaiian hotels). But being next to Disney, it was insanely loud. Hope it will be calm for your visit but I'd be mentally/emotionally prepared for the noise. When shut, the sliding balcony doors did drown out the noise fairly well, so, there's that.

Ask for high floor ocean views facing the adult pool. If you can get on that side, it could basically block out view of Disney and its beach/crowds.
Should have an impact on noise reduction as well.

Yeah I was more curious about it honestly. We are residents at one hotel and sometimes end up staying there for the entire month. But I couldn't possibly do 30 nights at 17 different hotels. I would be a wreck.

Yeah the Courtyard Marriott isn't really "jetsetting," ahahahahaha.
Also in one of the months he's staying at 17 hotels. Assuming generously that he's traveling for the whole month, that means 1.76 nights per hotel? That seems weird. Why would anyone stay 1.76 nights at different hotels for an entire month? I'd rather kill myself.

I'd love to know how you find time to enjoy the city and hotel you're staying in for one night (i.e., RC Kyoto). I mean that genuinely. I'm leaving for Florence on Saturday for three nights and am wondering if that's enough time. Ditto for Barcelona later this year.

I don’t really worry about enjoying the hotel (aside from the Ryokan). We’ll drop the bags there and spend the whole day seeing the city, then go somewhere off property for dinner and drinks. It’s nice to have a comfortable place to sleep where everything works properly and they can help you as needed. When it comes to tourism, I generally pack the tourist stuff into a regimented schedule the first time I visit a place so on subsequent visits I can just chill and enjoy being there/catching up with friends instead of needing to see things or tick boxes. I’d say three days is plenty if it’s your first time to Venice or Barcelona to eat some great food, see most of the sights and start to get a feel for the place.
