Does that drop the temperature out of the 90’s and depopulate the city of tourists during PEAK tourist crush time? . Following on the “different strokes for different folks theme,” you couldn’t pay me to go Florence in Aug. Glad you had a nice stay though.

Temperature is not a big deal for me, and we know where to go. We also grabbed the presidential suite.

And let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. I’m pretty sure I could pay you to stay in that suite in August. And maybe then it’ll actually feel like jetsetting instead of staying at one of those Courtyards

TBF, I agree with the sentiment though. But there were specific reasons we had to be there in August that I can’t disclose here.

plan is to go back in late April. Was thinking to combine it with the dolce vita car rental and drive through lake como, Milan, Monaco, and end up at the cap Ferrat. Weather should be good and right before tourist season?

I have one trip planned by the end of the year:
Helvetia-Saint Petersburg-Russia
I was there two years ago and really want to visit this beautiful European city and a cozy home hotel in the city center again

Taking my mom on her first points trip with me to Europe.

AF J to Paris round trip, staying at the Park Hyatt Vendome, then moving to the St. Regis Rome.

She's the type that thinks $100-150 a night is expensive at a hotel. It'll be interesting how this trip goes.

In addition to Aman Kyoto, have you thought about trying the new Park Hyatt Kyoto as well? Will be there in early Dec and tempted to try both!

Awesome! I'm taking my mom on her first trip to Japan and she is also very frugal so will be interesting to see her reactions to proper luxury hotels

Didn't mention this one so far, had only Porto Zante Villas on my radar. As they now charge absurd rates (2000 € cheapest room off season, 2400 € season) this is a very good and much more reasonable prices alternative.
