Oh, I'm so jealous. We were there a couple months ago and absolutely fell in love. Please PM with any questions you might have - I would love to help.

wow indeed. It was poor - the service in that hotel needs work given the cost.

I just made a reservation for a weekend at Finca Cortesin in July.
We were looking for a nice place within 2/3 hours direct flight from Paris, I hope it will be nice as I like the pictures but Pierre is not fully convinced. Anyway it is MY birthday

- Aman Canal Grande (March)
- Peninsula Manilla & Amanpulo (March/April)

And now added for next August:
- Swisshotel the Stamford (probably very average but location is perfect to watch the celebrations of the 50th birthday of Singapore)
- Amankila
- Amanjiwo

I hope Amanjiwo will live up to my expectations. It shall be the highlight of our trip

The thing to keep in mind though is you are going during high tourist season. So you will likely be eating with other tourists. If you go to Rome in the winter the scene is quite different.

If you haven't booked your trip from Capri to Positano I strongly recommend a private boat, preferably a good sized sailboat where you can casually cruise over and arrive just after sunset. It will be one of the most beautiful approaches to land that you've ever seen.
A huge plus 1 on all of the above.

While taking your boat ride over from Capri (where I like Luigi ai Faraglioni or La Fontelina for lunch) stop over in Nerano for lunch at Conca del Sogno. Since Il San Pietro have opened up their beach restaurant Carlino about 5 years ago I've stopped venturing out into Positano for lunch. For dinners I like Donna Rosa in Montepertuso (above Positano), Le Sirenuse's La Sponda & Il San Pietro's main restaurant (just wish they'd do something about their music but food is excellent). Don Alfonso is worth both a splurge and a 40 minute ride. Enjoy! I can't wait til my annual stay at ISP in August.

Did you mean Amanjiwo Resort in Magelang, Central Java?

I just came back from there few weeks ago, and it is pretty good. The location is in the hill, very peaceful, quiet, and tranquil. You can see Borobudur temple from afar. There is personal pool in front of every room.

Overall, good place to rest and meditate.

Going to stay in Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place, Jakarta on July (next month). They are having promotion due to Hari Raya Holiday in Indonesia.

In August, most probably will be staying in Hilton Garden Inn 35th Street, Manhattan, New York since it provides good value for money. Anybody have recommendation for good value hotel in Manhattan?

To qualificate Amanjiwo of just "good" is not giving justice to one of the most stunning resort over the world... Amanjiwo is spectacular...

Have multiple clients with July reservations that are affected by what's going on there right now
