Shangri-la Tokyo and Andaz Tokyo in a couple of weeks. Was thinking of giving Aman Tokyo a try as a staying guest but rather go with tried and tested.

I'd highly recommend the peninsula it was great - huge rooms with separate changing area and bathroom.

Going on a New England roadtrip next week!

Mandarin Oriental Boston, Blantyre, The Point

Always wanted to stay at The Point, for almost 10 years! Finally making it come true!

The Pen in Tokyo has actually amazing rooms and suites with great views and amazing comfort. The design is absolutely gorgeous as well and, as usual with Pen, there is a state of the art equipment. However, I was disappointed with the lobby and the staff was just OK but expected better. In Tokyo, I would give a chance to Aman where rooms and suites are huge and beautifully zen and I'm sure the service is gonna be better and better for reaching Aman standards.

MO Las Vegas this weekend. So far, uneven service but nice room. Air con issues, too. I'm 50-50.

Perhaps it´s while I´m European, but never had Air con problems in the US. What´s wrong if I may ask?

We will be very curious to hear a TR for your Lindblad Antarctica cruise! We're debating Lindblad and Silversea Explorer for Antarctica at some point in the coming few years. Hope it's wonderful!

Was at Alvear Palace in BA a few years ago, but still stopped by the very close PH Palacio Duhau, which is still amazing--perhaps the best hotel in the city, particularly if you like the more modern chic style mixed in wonderful architecture. You will love it. For me, those two are the tops in the city. The FS is an oddity to me in BA.

Will be curious to hear what you think of the Belmond das Cataratas. We were there eons ago and stayed at the crummy Sheraton (but with tremendous view).

Glad to see you return this month to the Halkin, too--our fave as you know in London.
