Connection time
We are going to be flying Lufthansa from IAD to FRA, in June. The 2 flights I am between are getting in at 5:25 am, one has an hour and 45 min layover, the other is 2 hours 55 min. Never flying there before, being totally unfamiliar with that airport, would it be safe to do the earlier connection, or should we play it safe and take the 3 hour ??

It would be helpful to know your final destination ... 1hr 45 is certainly very doable and if next flight is 2hrs 55 (if both LH or LH group) then you should be fine.

1h45m should be enough for connecting from the US to a Schengen flight and if you miss your connection you will be put on the next available flight. You will need to clear passport control but no security in FRA.

I guess we will see how it goes. I'll post how it went once we return from the trip (which should be late October)

Between A (where you arrive from AMS) and Z (where your flight to Dallas departs) there are three passport control lanes: C/F/*G, Y passengers with EU passports, Y passengers with non-EU passports. Good luck!

I am arriving on AA and will continue on LH from the A gates (Schengen).
I know that in Frankfurt arrivals from the US are "clean", so from that point of view no requirement to pass through security before connecting. However, never done a T2-T1 transfer at all, is the layout of the terminal such that I have to go through security again? Where would that happen? At A, in the "circle"? Is that before or after immigration?
I am wondering whether it isn't faster to take the Skytrain landside over to B and then walk to the FCT (I have access). Just not sure. I want to avoid long lines at security
Thanks.

I will be flying JED-FRA-TXL all on LH with checked luggage.
I know that I will be entering Schengen in FRA and have to pass through passport control, but will I need to collect my checked luggage in Frankfurt and go through German customs?
Or will my checked bags automatically be transferred to TXL and I go through German customs in TXL?
Thanks in advance.

Too risky
Hello all. Thanks in advance for your advice. Is the following do-able? We want to fly LH573 from JNB to FRA, arriving into FRA at 0535. Is it crazy to book onto a British Airways flight 901 departing 0715 (FRA-LHR) on a separate ticket? We'll be travelling hand baggage only.
Thanks
Jeremy
Thanks

Thanks

Perhaps someone else can answer how busy it is likely to be when you visit.

We will be flying FCO-FRA-IAD on LH in C with a 1:05 layover. It sounds like we may be able to use a passport control line for C passengers, but would we also be able to use security fast lane? (and if so are those the same as the ones for passengers with less than 30 minutes, or something else?)
LH's website seems to say some fast lanes are open to C passengers but I am a little confused. Also, do you need anything from the flight crew, or can you simply show your boarding pass?
I guess this might be a tighter connection than we were thinking, in which case maybe we'll check bags through.
