Advise of connection in Frankfurt
Traveling on a Wed in Nov. Florence to SFO connecting in FRA to United 901.
LH into FRA arrives 11:50. We are in business on 901 which departs 1:00 PM.
Is this enough time to comfortably connect. My partner is risk adverse.

Assuming this in on one ticket, it shouldn't be a problem. Don't waste time though. Your connection is within the official MCT.

The risk is that your inbound flight is significantly delayed. In that case they very likely will either put you on a later SFO flight or on a connection via ORD or some other place. Many options, so worst case you will still get to SFO same day.

As others have said you should be fine if the incoming flight is on time.

Finding Gate A63
What is the best way get to gate A63? I will be checking in at LH, (AB terminal) dropping off my bag having checked in on line within the 23h time period with boarding pass printed. (US Passport has been listed in "date collection" on line - does doing this actually speed up the security process as one passes through each check point?)
The gate assignment for LH 467 has, so far, been A63 which, according to the airport map (via LH website) is on the third floor. Any 'best way' tips?

If you follow the signs for A51-65 you will be directed up an escalator to the next level . At the top of the escalator you go through passport control and security check. Then just keep on walking until you get to your departure gate which will be at the far end if it's A63.
Signs for piers B/C and T2 D/E point to the Skyline train platforms. A17-42 are Schengen gates which may be reached via Passport Control close to Gate 65.
This was taken by A59 looking towards higher A gates and the entrance to the Tower Lounge. For Schengen gates A17-42 (which are downstairs) one has to go through passport control at the far end of the pier.
There is another set of passport control/security check at the other end of A concourse near gate A26 but the one I described above should be more straightforward.
But beware that departure gates for the same flight could be different from day to day. For the last couple of days LH462 departed from a C gate which is at the other end of T1. Whether A or C, if you follow the signs you shouldn't have any problem finding your departure gate.
Also bear in mind that even if you have completed APIS data collection online, you may be asked for the same information again during OLCI.

Many thanks NewbieRunner!
This is exactly what I needed, NewbieRunner. ^
A picture journal is worth thousands of words.
Yes, I am aware of the possible change of departure gate but having flown US Airways over the past 8 years I am familiar with C terminal and have passed the LH gated there, gone through the security and passport controls. I like having a sense of control and at least knowing in which direction I need to go.
Thanks again for the photos, NewbieRunner. :-:

However, the C gates used by US Airways are different from the (relatively) new C13-16 gates used by LH. The latter are in the same direction but a few hundred metres further on.
If coming from Concourse B this is what you'll see. Passport control for C Concourse if coming directly from the pubic area is beyond the grey wall to the left of this photo.
A little further on and round the corner you turn right for C1-9 gates but go up the escalator or steps and cotinue for C13-16 gates.

This section of C terminal was an area that was under construction when last I was in FRA (Feb 2009) so it does look different. Thanks for the updated photos, NewbieRunner. ^
I may do a video journal of my departures and arrivals at each airport for later posting after my return in November.
I did a search for some sort of visual of FRA and found none. Mine might help future travelers. (hope it is not a breach of security)

Please describe FRA's handicapped assistance
The wife and I shall be flying Phl-> Fra -> Vce. The wife requires wheelchair assistance and I can only ambulate about a city block. How difficult will the transit from arrival to departure gates be?

Simply ask your FA on the PHL-FRA leg to have a wheelchair available for you at FRA and they will also arrange for transport to your connecting flight for the both of you.
This was my experience when I flew Feb 2009 with my disabled partner. They were very helpful in all cases.

If you haven't done so already I suggest you check this page and relevant links on the page. Contact LH in advance with your requirements and don't leave it until the day of travel.
PHL-FRA may arrive at a remote apron position and it is important that you and your wife receive all the help you need.

Fantastic thread! Looking ahead to my trip in 3 weeks. I will not have status going, but will hit the mark for silver on return.
Let me start off by saying my travel plans are a bit odd. I chose the 3 1/2 hour layover in FRA on my way to BRU for a weekend trip specifically because I've never been to Germany. So I actually am hoping to do a bit of shopping. Yes, I know it is silly. Dad will have been gone exactly 1 year, and he wanted me to do something different.
I arrive on CO50 from EWR- FRANKFURT-MAIN (FRA) at 9:25AM,
and leave CO53181 S FRANKFURT-MAIN (FRA) 1:00PM to BRUSSELS, on LH codeshare.
I will follow the signs :~). Was only going to do a carryon (it is a weekend trip), but after reading this thread think that checking bag through could save me a bit of time going through security.
1)- when I OLCI with CO, will I also get my LH BP, or will I have to do that in FRA? (not used to codeshares)
2) - how best to optimize exploring the shops? (I bring home local food and beer for Mr. P1 to make up for the constant travel). Is one set of shops better than another for German products? (food, gifts, etc)
3)- if I decide to hit the lounge using my US Airways Club membership- which one is best? I might or might not want to spend the time and shower- do I need to reserve the shower? I have tried the Star Alliance lounge search several times, and keep getting the error message.
Thank you in advance for your expertise.
