FWIW, here is a sample itinerary for KBP-LUX via MUN. Unfortunately, you won't get around a 6.40 a.m. departure.

Airline: Lufthansa (LH)

LH 6878

Arrives: 20:40 - Luxemburg (LUX), Luxembourg
Airline: Luxair (LG)
Aircraft: Bombardier Q400
My bad for MUC, still a newbie after all

I checked on my expected return date, which is November 21st and there are no more flights at 17:05 or is it just me (or LH website??)? Only 13:05 (1 stopover) and 15:25 (2 stopovers)

When I mentioned the flight from LUX to KBP, I meant that I could only book it in two separate flights, LH doesn't sell this one as one and only ticket.

That is because on Nov 21, LH2545 departs at 1715 and arrives at 1905 - which is too late for LH6878's 1930 departure as it is below the 30 min MCT threshold.

This also explains why separate bookings are possible. It's for you to decide if you're willing to risk a 25-min connection on two PNRs and be unprotected if you miss it.

Strange... if you try to book KBP-MUC on 21 November, this is what you get.

17:15 Kiev, Borispol 18:50 Munich LH2545 2h35

However, the last MUC-LUX flight is

17:55 Munich 19:05 Luxembourg LH2322 1h10

You're quite right, I got my schedules mixed up - sorry about that!

However, the last MUC-LUX flight is

19:30 Munich 20:40 Luxembourg LG9738 1h10

This books as LH6878 when connecting from e.g. VIE, though, curiously, not from KBP.

Incidentally, there is one other option with a single connection in VIE:

Kiev (KBP) to Luxembourg (LUX) - Mon, Nov 21

Kiev (KBP) to Vienna (VIE) - Mon, Nov 21
Austrian Airlines 7174 Dep: 5:50PM Arr: 6:50PM 2h0m Boeing 737
OPERATED BY UKRAINE INTERNATIONAL

Layover in VIE 1h55m

Vienna (VIE) to Luxembourg (LUX) - Mon, Nov 21
Austrian Airlines 7085 Dep: 8:45PM Arr: 10:30PM 1h45m De Havilland Dash-8
OPERATED BY LUXAIR

It won't even show in the LH.com online timetable when searching for MUC-LUX or KBP-LUX on Nov 21, though you will find it with VIE-LUX, choosing MUC as connection point.

Glad to see I'm not the only one confused here... Btw, I hate LH website as soon as my flight requires a connection because it only displays timetables before prices which is very annoying

I don't use the connection in VIE anymore since it's operated by Ukraine International and then you don't get flight segments qualifications for FT (which I need)

Without wanting to double-post, I just wrote a short review of a visit to the new Munich airport VIP Lounge called VIP Wing in the Germany forum. As I assume most people will check in this forum, I provide a link: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/germa...ew-lounge.html
It is accessible for pax on all airlines, for dep, arr or connex.

Sounds similar to the FRAport VIP Service.

Depending on the cost- this could be a good solution for small meetings as an alternative to the Kempinski.

I've got an upcoming flight on LH475 YUL-MUC. Looking at the LH website flight status for today/yesterday says this flight arrives at gates "I32" or "I38". I don't see any "I" gates on the MUC airport maps that I've found online.

I'll be connecting to another LH flight to AMS which apparently typically leaves out of the "G" gates.

I've got a 1 hr 35 min connection time in MUC.

Level I is where pax arriving from most non-Schengen countries enter the terminal and is above level H. I32 and I38 are exactly the same gates as H32 and H38 (also G32 and G38 for that matter). When you leave the aircraft you go up the escalator to reach level I.

Just follow the signs for"Connecting flights - Gates G" which should take you through security and passport control to your departure gate. There will be no further passport control when you arrive in AMS.

1 hr 35 min should be more than enough for a connection in MUC.

So I'm travelling USA-MUC-CDG on LH F. I've gathered that I go through security and then to the FCL to go through passport control.

I'll be checking bags and a case of wine which I assume i'll have to declare and pay duty on. Will I do that in CDG? Or do I do that in MUC? I'm on one ticket so I assume the bags will be checked through to CDG.

Thanks!

Arrivals from the US no longer need to clear security on arrival in MUC. Yes, you can go through passport control in the FCL.

Customs for your carry-on will be in MUC, for your checked baggage in CDG.
