you're right. That's what I get for typing late at night! 1 miles for every 2 dollars (otherwise I wouldn't be complaing
) hehe.
But seriously now, why isn't there any info on the card anywhere? It almost feels like its not advertised anywhere because of its for people who have just started working and have low credit lines or something. Did anyone here got a Platinum and not a World or Premier?

The Platinum card seems to be their card "for everyone" if they give you a credit line below $5000, as mentioned on their fine print in the advertising.

I canceled, too - The Platinum offer doesn't seem appealing enough to me compared with the benefits the Premier cards are offering. And the low credit line makes it hard to collect an interesting amount of miles.

if you worry about your credit score just bump up your income! there is no verification and with "household" as your total amount you are not lying. I just helped my friend to apply for one and he got PREMIER. doubled, eeeem, even tripled+ his income to 65k. 30sec later, got approval for $6500 credit line. best of all, he makes only in the low teens and is tax exempt in US.

When I was calling Barclays to inquire about the qualification requirement to get Premier I was told to send in a qualification request with documents that proof a yearly household income of >200k.
Mmh, looks like I need to get some tax exempt, though.

Change in T&C for USA M&M Credit Card Companion Offer?
I was wondering if people have started to receive the companion ticket advertised as one of the benefits of the new M&M MasterCard for US customers. A few weeks ago, I noted in the original credit card thread that it'd seem like a good deal if indeed it could be used for any booking class, and I had copied and pasted the terms from the offer (second post on this page)
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...=747273&page=6
Today, however, going back to the same website (http://www.lufthansa.com/online/port...nodeid=2037464) from where I had copied the original T&C, this is what is shows now:
Terms & Conditions of the Economy Class Companion Ticket
* Application: all published fares in Economy Class. The paid Economy Class ticket must be for travel departing from the U.S. to Europe/Middle East/Africa and Far East
* Eligibility: Miles & More MasterCard holders residing in the U.S.
* Class of service: Economy Class
* Booking class: both revenue and companion ticket must be booked in H/Class
* Type of transportation: based on paid Economy Class fare
* Travel: valid only on Lufthansa operated flights (no code-share or Lufthansa train). Both paid Economy Class ticket and Companion Ticket must travel on the same flights on the same day.
* Reservations: must be made by calling Miles & More Companion Ticket Service at 1-866-461-5399
* Ticketing: will be ticketed by the Miles & More Companion Ticket Service
[ the rest is the same as before]
Note the addition of the fourth line which wasn't part of the T&C when I copied them a few weeks ago - ticket must be in H class. Of course, in most circumstances this would make the companion ticket offer pretty useless for the casual flyer shopping around for the best deal.
Did anybody else notice this? Did anybody receive any companion certificate yet, and what does it say?

Exactly, that's another indication that they probably updated this page recently - adding the new restriction without removing the more permissive rules. I expect what would really matter is what's printed on the certificates.

After applying for this card online, I received TWICE a written request for proof of citizenship or rsidence, which I filled and returned both times, then.... NOTHING.
Does anybody know where to enquire/re-apply ?

Oh well...applied online and only got approved for the Platinum MasterCard with $1,000 limit, probably because I have only about six months of credit history in this country. Guess I'll have to call them to upgrade in a few months.

Seems to me that this card is getting pretty useless...
- rise of the foreign transaction fee from 0% (according to the letter that came with the card) to 3%
- the change in rules for the companion certificate
- and the best part: Last night my card got declined when I tried to buy something online in Germany for about 10 EUR...Hello!!! This is a credit card affiliated with a german company - a fair percentage of users will have (business) ties to Germany - and I'm definitely not going to call every time I need to pay something outside the US (although with the foreign transaction fee this might not happen that often anyway)...
Now I'm considering canceling it, even though I got the Premium version...
