EWR has little digital frames on their checkin desks advertising the new F and the possibility to upfare to F. I asked the DM (who was working the F counter) what the logic behind these was and if its intermittent or a daily affair. He said they have them on display every day, nothing related to loads.

I suppose there is always the possibility to "upfare" to F. It just depends on how much you want that possibility .

Perhaps you were on a full J fare and he would have had to refund money to you to refare to "A"

Hi all,

Traveling ADB-MUC-YUL this Thursday (18 April), and I'm wondering if they would offer the last minute cash upgrade in ADB, or would I have to inquire in MUC? For what it's worth I have a 5+ hour layover in MUC. Flying on a Q fare.

All you can do is ask. I'd expect you'd have to ask at MUC, but who knows.

THere's currently plenty of free space in business, though.

Please feel free to move if this is not the correct thread/ forum.

Does anyone know how much Lufthansa will charge to upgrade at the MCO kiosk? We have Economy (S) seats. Neither of us has Star Alliance status or Miles & More account.

MCO- FRA LH465 Economy (S)
FRA- DEL LH760 Economy (S)

This is the Economy Basic Plus II, website says that Mileage Upgrade is allowed. The Economy (S) fare is $ 1720.98, Business Basic or Business (P) fare is $ 4562.98 for the same dates (i.e. $2841.98 difference per person).

Our friend was offered expensive upgrade by SWISS (not Lufthansa). He told us it is cost effective to purchase Business. Any insight will be appreciated.

What is likelihood of upgrade to F at FRA on LH760 on Nov 11?

Route is: YYZ/FRA/DEL (booked as AC codeshare) all in J

Return on Nov 16 on LH761 in F (not ticketed as an AC codeshare).

Any suggestions on how I can get into F on FRA/DEL segment on the 11th?

From reading these posts it seems as if the more affordable option for upgrading from economy to business is not to take advantage of paid upgrades proffered when checking in online or at a kiosk but to wait and ask to purchase an upgrade once on board. I never even knew this option existed until now. How would one go about requesting this? Would one wait until after take-off when things have quieted down or make the request when walking on board? I will be flying MCO to FRA on Lufthansa.

Thank you for any insight you are willing to share.
