Isn't that eerily close to what the fare difference would be anyway?

Y ticket was 630 EUR return, Y+ was (and still is) 1585.

That is indeed a steep difference. And 1500+ is a bit much for PE ... the current 1200 EUR offers to SIN however smell very attractive to me.

200€ is quite some $. I think its more than using optiontown for SK. I remember my flight from cph to pvg using optiontown is something like 160€, and 200% points.

FWIW, upgrade to Premium Economy for cash at gate on FRA-IAD is 299 Euro, whereas upgrade for cash at check-in on IAD-FRA is 249$.

Do you have any idea how much the fare difference was when you booked? 250$ is not bad I think.

Similar to what posters above mentioned - my Y ticket was around 1000 E, and Y+ would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2200-2500 (I can't recall exactly); booked one week before departure.

On FRA-IAD, the Y+ was almost empty and I went to check out the seats (as they are wedged between Y seats, you can easily do so). Instead of 3-4-3, it's 2-4-2. Seat pitch is better, but then on B748, the seatpitch is criminally small, so Y+ felt very similar to what Delta offers in Economy Comfort. The seat was OK, but has a distinctly economy-feel.

There may be advantages, and at 250$ it may be worth the buck, but it's certainly not worth more than that. On a similar note, Y->C upgrades on IAD-FRA were sold at 1100 USD, which even the lounge dragon said is "not worth it"

I'd like to try an upgrade since I need to carry another luggage which would be €150 for each flight (from FRA to PEK), anybody tried it?

I'm a UA 1K based in Denver, so I'm looking at using the DEN_FRA flight as my way to get to the EU instead of going to ORD or EWR.

I'm have a booking now in H with a United Codeshare Flt number that I'm going to apply a UA GPU to. If it doens't clear right away, how could I participate in the bidding for the E+? This will be a UA '016' ticket, but the flt number might get moved to a LH number when I go to apply the GPU, if that makes any kind of difference.

When do you bid on the Y+? Does it matter when you do? Will there be a chance at bidding for it at the gate or if it looks like at T-24 that my GPU won't clear?

Has $200 been successful for the Y+? That is definitely doable.

I'm in a curious situation... booked on MUC-FRA-PEK-MUC

Inbound is in P, so no issues there.

Outbound in H (whY) and N (PE) cost the same 2065€, E (PE) would be aprox 2500. G 3481€. N&E availability is switching from 0,1,2 in a strange pattern, it seem PE is indeed well booked on that route.

If I remain in H because we failed to snag N, I would be really curious what bid level would be acceptable to plusgrade

Y Award ticket - can I upgrade to Y+ ??

Greetings,
Coming back May 3rd from FRA to IAH. Seat map suggest A380-800 V3 (5 rows of Y in upper deck).
I am a *A Gold - is there anyway to pay a premium and upgrade from Y to Y+?

Still hoping C/F seat opens sometime soon although OTC begins on May 4th so I doubt it......

Thanks!
R

You can upgrade X award tickets to N using plusgrade. They also sell upgrades at the gate, especially for departures ex-US.
