It would be good if +stars meant that you could bring more guests into the lounge but I would better stop dreaming

We can't be a five-star airline without five-star customers!

That's one for the PowerPoint.

I think that there should be some recognition for every hour spent on board an LH-group flight, and actually, I would give way more recognition to those who fly in Y over those in C/F, as they truly suffer to be part of the LH experience.

I am confident that as a part of the enhancements lounge entry and "boarding" will strictly follow stars orders AND booking class.
It will make for an empowering moment for all the LH lounge dragons and add a frisson of extra excitement for entitled gate agents as well to work on an excel spreadsheet crossing columns and rows to determine the "correct" order

Maybe they will do something useful and concrete like use the stars for maintaining status. For example, if you are SEN+ (1 star) and you don't requalify, you'll go back to SEN for a year, effectively extending your status. If you still don't requalify, you'll go back to FTL, etc.

They can't really be so stupid as to think we will give a rat's ... about stars on our cards, can then? I don't even take my card out these days...

I would take it, you need it in several airports for lounge access, incl. ZRH

So, these geniuses did communicate that you get sparkly stars, but don't communicate the associated benefits? Brilliant!
I think I need to investigate deeper what these oneworld guys have to offer for my travel pattern, just out of curiosity.

I can't stand all these LH-bashers anymore!

The stars enhance the look of the status card.

Can't be that diffcult to understand, can it? The look of the status card is now becoming the most important benefit of any FFP and Lufthansa is just taking the lead on this new customer initiative after they have 'enhanced' all other benefits.

Most managements get into a senile phase, LH's management is working against that trend and has just made the most infantile decision in years.

FTL for 13.69 years
SEN for 6.84 years
HON for 4.56 years
So if you have been SEN from day1 of M&M and HON from day 1 you will have a grand total of 3-4 stars. So like LH and Skytrax everyone is doomed to remain in 4 star purgatory
