LH has pretty high load factors in Y right now... its vacation time, so op ups in higher fareclasses are not rare...

Few weeks ago flight VIE-FRA was full. I received an upgrade Y to C at the boarding machine. There were 12 pax in C. Two of them HONs and the rest with SEN status. So they def. upgraded by status.
Unfortunatelly I just receive once or twice a year an opup and only on the short haul flight. So far never on the long haul.

I was under the impression that LH/OS tickets in M/B/Y land you into economy extra on SAS by default.

No, these are seated in normal eco. You will be able to pick seats in y+ cabin in the M&M profile but they will not be confirmed.

LH428 MUC-CLT Z->F
That was about two weeks ago, and I had to be extra nice to the FM to make sure that happens. She made a phone call to seek someone's approval and then handed me a BP for 1A. That worked for me!

...? You have scored M to C (i.e. 2-class) upgrades on SK longhaul as a LH SEN? That doesn't happen to SK's own *G! Ever!

That's about all the business (only Y pax) they are getting these days - FAs confirming this as well...

FAs also confirming that HONs bailing on LH big-time...

One good reason to fly other carriers - was 1 of only 2 elites in Z-class, with a heavily overbooked Y cabin, but some other characters were op-upped into F - UA*Gs also getting the royal treatment and for the first time, this SEN got worse treatment than other pax!
