CDG-FRA
CDG-FRA Y (T-fare) to C for me (SEN already 5+ years) + for companion, my assistant, who was flying first time at all.
At first asked on chek-in at CDG about the possibility to get the middle seat between us free and when arrived at lounge, they told me, that they just upgraded me and my colleague to business class as they needed the middle seat between us. Nice!

I have been flying that route once or twice a month for more than a year and nothing like this occured :-)
I guess it's a matter of chance.
Does online check-in decrease your chances ? I just do it to get an aisle seat. If I read what has been said previously, I should wait to board as the last person?

D > F on LX NRT-ZRH on Sunday.
When I tried OLCI T-4 (didn't OLCI earlier since the connecting flight wasn't available for OLCI until 02:15 local time) I got an error message that a valid ticket could not be found (though it could be found c.16 hours earlier).
Was it a good omen? The availability was F6 A6 J6 C6 D6 Z0 P6 Y0 B0 M0 U0 H0 Q0 V0 W0 S0 T0 L0 K0 with 15 out of 47 C seats still not assigned when I last checked. Y might have been oversold and they were expecting some Y > C upgrades but they weren't going to fill all the C seats to warrant C > F upgrades? EF seatmaps were no longer available as the flight was under airport control.
Checked in at the airport T-1.5 and the seat 12A (the last single Business seat available) was confirmed. Oh well, that's what I paid for and it's a day flight anyway. The main C cabin seemed half-empty when I last checked. If I wanted to burn two more eVouchers I'm sure it would have worked…
At the gate the scanner beeped and I was handed a new BP – for 2A. ^ I was tempted to go back to see how full the C cabin was but I didn't. There were 5 F pax in the end – 3 last-minute upgrades?

Even upgraded to the best seat on the entire plane (besides the one on the left in the cockpit) Could life be any better?

I have no status on LH (only SK Silver), but to my surprise got Z -> F on LH 628 FRA-AUH on Dec. 23, 2011.
Was my first time in F. While the service was impeccable, the equipment was no better than SK C in my opinion.

06FEB LH714 MUC-NRT V -> C at the Gate thanks to the flight manager. 1st long haul upgrade in 6 years and first as SEN (previous one was as UA*G).
