Given that the head of Technology is originally from WN... it might be a while.

Does it get cheaper day of departure or at the gate?

on my corp booking for JFK-LAS, move to Mint shows as 4 certs. Which seems wild. The one way cash difference is like $650.

unless someone has taken a trip in the last nine days and has data points no one knows. The system is entirely opaque.

Did you actually cancel an itinerary with MTM certs attached and get them restored, or is this what an agent at the Mosaic line stated?

An agent told me they can remove the MTM certificates from a reservation at any time and restore them to your account. You can then fly economy or cancel the reservation.

I did not actually have that done.

Data point:

Booked BOS-LAX for early February. Blue fare was $193.10, Mint was $886. Only one MTM certificate was required so I confirmed it right away and was able to select seat 2A.

(Originally I was going to be on AA T321F, but that flight schedule got torpedoed so I was going BOS-JFK-LAX in J, waiting for an upgrade to F on the JFK-LAX route... but for $193, I'll happily take Mint on the nonstop.)

Starting to think that fare paid had influence in how many certs required. For fun I book a higher priced fare for same flight I have at end of month. 1 less mtm required. 🤔

Which seems like, on the back end, the number of MTM certs is probably a function of the fare difference (if you were to buy up with $$) rather than the absolute fare.

B6 really has dis-incentivized M4 status attainment by dynamically pricing the MTM. 3 certs for one way LAS-JFK is a joke. Thats 3 certs! (Approximately 1 cert for each $500 of the $1,503 one way fare. No way!)

The MTM pricing is ridiculous. I booked a RT ticket from BOS to LAS for 2 people. Was hoping to get Mint at least one way (have 4 certs, M3 level) thinking it would be 2 certs per leg. But nope, I get the "Ack. This flight isn’t eligible for a Move to Mint." message and it says "Not enough certificates" on both flights. Does the not eligible message always show when you don't have enough, or does that imply anything different?

how much is mint selling for on your flight? I was able to do one certificate each way but mint fare was $785 on my flights.

So far I see zero Mint seats taken on either flight. Flight is in July, so hoping price drops in the future.

One way costs: Blue fare $344. Mint fare $1315. It had appeared to be roughly 1 cert per $500 in fare difference, so thats what made me think it would be 2 certs per leg.

Yeah I think its more than that now. Tried another flight where price was $200 for Blue and $599 for mint and B6 wants 2 certs, but I found another one where blue is $150 and mint is $1000 and its also 2 cert still. Their dynamic pricing for MTM seems to be just as confusing and manual as their previous MTM process.
