Visit Japan Web replacing MySOS
Apparently, after November 14, 2022, MySOS will be replaced by Visit Japan Web
This looks to be web based as opposed to app based and will reportedly generate QR codes not only for quarantine but also immigration and customs. I look forward to hearing real world experience in the next month. I'm not the happiest with it being web based but, oh well My trip isn't until February so I fully expect a new iteration or 2 before then |
You can sign up today, add your flight info and fill out the immigration and customs forms but the vaccination functions won't be active until November 1st.

Thanks for the heads up! The website isn't that bad to use at all. I actually prefer it over paper based forms. If there's an iOS/Android app that would be even better though.

So if I'm flying to Japan from the US on November 2nd (arriving on the 3rd), should I use this or the MySOS app?

For new registration If you enter Japan by November 13th, you can use MySOS for registration during October. Please use VJW from November. If you enter Japan on and after November 14th, you can not use MySOS for registration. Please use VJW after November 1st. *Please note that the VJW review process will be very busy right after November 1st. If you enter Japan by November 5th, we recommend that you complete your registration through MySOS in October in order to receive the review results well in advance. |
I'm trying to fill out the form for my upcoming visit but it requires an address. I'm actually in transit and was just hoping to leave the airport for a bit because of the long layover and also because I haven't been to Tokyo in three years.
Is there guidance on what to input for an address? |

From the FastTrack FAQs (https://www.hco.mhlw.go.jp/faq/fasttrack-en.html):
Given the dates you've supplied, use MySOS for your quarantine records (but you'll need to sign up before it goes down on 1st November) and use Visit Japan Web for immigration/customs. |
hi,
Just registered on Visti Japan Web ( fairly straigh forward)- apart from the main flight number - my ticket is NH but on LH metal Regards TBS |

Wait I need two separate apps/websites now?
Hi, When are you flying? If in early November then you may need both forms ( but you can still fill out the paper immigration /customs forms prior to landing) Regards TBS |

Flying November 2nd, landing November 3rd. Thank you.
hi I am landing on Nov 1st so have got mysos app approved and have filled in the visit japan Web. it is a little time consuming but the firm is not too bad and saves writing it out It looks like for any later visits ie in new year I will only have to fill out one form the visit japan form. I may fill out the paper customs and immigration form just in case there is a problem with the phone on arrival Regards Tbs |
Has anyone used the web form flying with kids? What do you do?

That said, I'm eager to learn if the QR codes alone will suffice. Cheers. |
Due to arrive on the 6th, and have just completed VJW to go with MYSOS.
Given MYSOS is active up till the 13th, I’ll stick with that for the quarantine. |
