USJ is so much fun!!

Everything looks so tranquil in the photos posted over the last few pages.

If there is a pictorial definition of peaceful -- this is it.... I can't wait to get back home in a few weeks -- we are taking my wifes parents on holiday to Kyūshū -- Japan is just gorgeous in its own way....

Platform tree

There is a large shrine very close to the station, and therefore the tree is sacred and cannot be cut down or disturbed. So when they built (or maybe extended) the station, they built it around the tree. This one is Hattori-tenjin station near Osaka but there are a few other platform trees in other stations around Japan for the same reason.

Thank you, this was exactly how I felt at this spot and sat here imbibing the tranquility for a good long while as I watched the strengthening sun play scales with the colours.

She had mentioned on another thread about liking Mt Thabor Hokkaido Milk bread made in the traditional way. We often indulge at that place -- and many others on that street on the way to grab a taxi home...
