Great photos. I have read that Noboribetsu-Onsen is pretty run down and somewhat stuck in the 80s. Would love to have your views.
We went there straightly for the "hot spring" and the hiking experience in Hell Valley. Both were exceeded our expectation. In this small town, you will find large onsen hotels that have many pools, some even outdoor (I was there late November, and outdoor it was cold!). The experience of a traditional Japanese dinner after the dipping in the pools, with 10-12 courses was quite amazing. If you like onsen, you will not be disappointed (I think). |
Went for a run tonight on the Sumida-gawa terrace and thought I’d share some pictures of the bridges - was a rainy day but it cleaned up the air for some clear pictures - love how the Japanese light their bridges!
