Far fewer carrion crows in Tokyo today than in decades past. I think the natives have finally worked out the trash collection schedule.

They definitely know. Depending on what time sunrise is I can hear them jumping on the roof of my apartment building, but only on Monday and Thursday mornings.

I think that jungle crows (Wikipedia) are more common in cities but both species are present in Japan and look very similar.

We've been exploring Japan (via car), off and on, since last September since we have a second home there.

Many awesome sights that are worthy of sharing (landscapes, temples, etc.), but I've elected to share some of the nicer castles that we've visited.

Hi,

Had days to use up from annual leave after new year so spent 3 nights in the conrad Tokyo and managed to grab a Jal f return using British airways avios into hands. Availability showed up with a week to go as I had not been planning a trip to tokyo before then.

A bit tiring but had beautiful clear skies in tokyo. Would have wanted to stay longer but no avios availability and got to experience jal f

Somehow I don't think the designers of this garden (Hama Rikyu?) were considering this to be its 借景.

I'm far more amazed that you or whoever got a wild bird (not just a pigeon) to sit on and eat out of your hand.
