This is a shot of Sensoji's 五重塔 , or the Five-Storied Pagoda. I was one of two people wandering around at the time...I remember the moment as being very humid, and then suddenly getting consistently strong gales pushing me westward. |

Took a quick overnight trip to Kyoto this week. Haven't been to these classic places for years because of the tourist crush. Very few people. A pleasant time. Nijo-jo and Kinkaku-ji.

Another slightly more remote place - Takeda castle ruins, in Hyogo, about halfway inland from Himeji to the San'in coast.

This castle is most famous for being a hill castle that sometimes gives the 'floating castle' effect when there's fog in the valley.
