11.5 for JL vs 13.5 for NH

looks like they are doing equal split for countries with multiple slot pairs and NH has advantage for those with only a single pair. But this is tentative allocation only and it can still change before formal announcement in Sep

Probably something boring with existing flights from NRT The article mentions China, Russia, Australia and Turkey. JL may get Australia and probably some China ones but I doubt this will be used for new routes.

Yeah, there is something weird behind it I'll be happy if I get a HND MIA on JAL. Not asking for much, I know.

At least you aren't asking for a flight to Pakistan

JAL, please add more destinations! Add more countries if possible! I'm tired of flying to the same places! First world problems.

It's a half slot pair. Maybe something with reduced frequency like 2x or 3x weekly where departure is one day and arrival is the next or v.v.?

No, we don't have an office there, so I don't need that.

Some additional European destinations would be great. But with limited Oneworld connectivity, probably not so likely.

But don't we know the list of possible countries already? They must have negotiated and signed the deals between countries getting additional slots by now. So far we know the following:

US: 12 (6 each)
China: ?
Australia: ? (NH has existing slot to SYD already so hopefully JL will get 1 here)
Turkey: ? (probably 1 for NH?)
Russia: ? (my bet is either NH getting 1 or this is the 0.5 slot shared between JL and NH)

Other than Turkey and Russia, another other European countries?

There is already an open possibility for Helsinki Haneda. So probably Finnair or JAL doing that.

Could the half-slot be referring to a non-standard pair that might be split between daytime and nighttime? I could see such an arrangement benefitting a destination like IST, whereby TK/NH could land around 19:00 (which is a daytime slot) and depart after 22:00 so it would use a nighttime slot there. It could also work for something like SYD or HEL as well.

Now that slots have been allocated, any speculation for the JL plan?

US: adding LAX, ORD, JFK, DFW, HNL x2 (or maybe they will do HNL and LAS) and keep NRT-LAX/ORD/DFW with 787?
China: same boring PEK SHA flights or shifting NRT-DLC?
Russia: NRT-DME -> HND-DME
Aussie: NRT-SYD -> HND-SYD
India: DEL?
Finland: NRT-HEL -> HND-HEL
