I stayed there last December on pts. Was upgraded to a suite
on the executive/club floor - comfortable room.
There is free internet - not wifi - in the lounge. Reasonable drinks/snacks
in the evening.
not a bad place but a long way from the action.

Does anyone have any experience with Amb privileges while staying here on an award stay? I was thinking of booking the recent PB rate.

I stayed there in December 2007 on a PB.
I was given a suite on the Club Floor and fairly
sure I was given all the RA benefits. Well worth
emailing the hotel to make sure. They even allowed
me to move the dates of my stay well after the hotel
had reverted to the normal award rate.

I stayed there in March. Received an upgrade to a club room (appeared bigger than the non-club version). No free internet as an RA. They do fuss over you as you arrive and direct you to checkin in the Club.
The Club was reasonably well appointed with a nice drinks and snacks spread in the evening, and they had no problem with my entourage (!) of 5 joining me in the Club.
The minibar was quite weak though - I seem to recall only 1 bottle each of juice, water, and beer. Food in the restaurants was quite good, nice variety in the breakfast spread.
Tough call between the IC and Raffles - I think the Raffles is probably slightly classier (and service wise, very good), but the IC was slightly cheaper on our corporate rates. Annoyingly one of our offices is closer to the Raffles, and the other closer to the IC!

E-mailed the hotel. They said no to an upgrade b/c it's on reward nights. I guess we'll hope for better luck at check-in. It was supposed to be upgraded to a junior suite too. Wondering if we can pay for the last night and get the upgrade and check-out early. Sneaky, I know.

I'd also love some more reports on this hotel. Planning a New Year's stay here... Also, anyone know if there is a higher category than "Club Room City View"? I'd like a nice room, but if that's the best room I'll just book a cheapest available and get upgraded to that...

Hmm well yes i've very fond memories of all night benders at Sharkys et al but a wife and young son will be in tow now.Dom Perignon and a decent pool will suffice now though...in fact the latter is fairly essential as from memory PP isnt exactly buzzing with kids entertainment.
