The purpose of this thread was to discuss a corporate offer that was leaked to the public by blogs.
The offer was to instantly upgrade your account to Diamond Elite regardless of current status and stays.

This offer is now dead and the thread has deviated from its original topic.

Noob here: Why would the Diamond be extended? And not downgraded to Platinum? On the Ambassador page it says you get Platinum.

There’s widespread speculation that it’s to sweeten the pot for existing Diamonds. Plat status gives those people nothing of value.

Existing Diamond exp 12/31/22. Ordered Ambassador today and immediately changed to 12/31/24. Used my log in and then points.

I did exactly the same. Renewed either 30th or 31st December.

What time was it EST when you did this? I’m prepared to believe this is an edge case where it was 12/31 in your location but 1/1 on the east coast.

Impossible, as I live in the UK. You can see the screenshot was taken midday on the 31st so even if I’d renewed just then (I actually think it was earlier) it would have been early morning 31st in America.

Somewhere around 20th of December. I posted here my experience on the day of renewal.

Wow... I must be just unlucky... Enrolled in Amb first time 30th of December and got 12/2023 expiration Diamond Elite....

Most if not all of the datapoints I’ve seen seem to indicate that renewing ambassador at the end of 2022 extends it to end of 2024, enrolling ambassador at the end of 2022 extends it to end of 2023, and enrolling at the beginning of 2023 extends it to end of 2024.

This continues to be the best $200 I've ever spent on travel or status. It's still January and, coupled with the current 20% points discount, did the Seattle Kimpton Vintage for $112 worth of points in a premium view sofa room and then the Kimpton Palladian for 21k points, upgraded to a 1 bedroom spa suite. Did not even use the F&B credits but got $30 for Diamond amenities too. I am just going to keep throwing money at Kimptons all year long at this rate. Hyatts are typically way more expensive on the west coast, even factoring in the destination fees at Kimptons, which one doesn't even pay when in points. Next points sale, I am loading up.
