Meanwhile, still showing as diamond on IHGs website through 12/31/22 (lol). When are they going to update everyones status for 2023?

When the program was overhauled, didn't IHG say that status would expire on Feb. 28 each year? All throughout the year, I expected people's status to update to a 2/28/23 expiration date, but it never did.

Hey guys, probably a silly question, but for the 20,000 points AMB offer, the terms state that I need to spend two nights in one of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, or Regent Hotels. What comes under under Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts? Do I need to stay in an actual IC hotel or just something under the IHG brand?

Mine shows 12/31/2024 as I already met the night requirements for this year (71 rollover nights). The app does not show the correct dates sometimes. Try updating the app or checking the website.

2023 for me, extended via purchasing IC Ambassador, something I'm reminded of around 5.30pm every day, via the welcome email they keep sending.

Thanks. At £200 a night, then, it's not worth doing two nights just to receive the points then so I think I'll let this one slide.

Gonna try contacting service to get them to refund my initial Amb purchase so that I can repurchase now and see if I can get 2024. For context I purchased on Dec 30 2022 (Diamond extended to Dec 2023). Will post back with DP

Also, does anyone know when the best month to sign up/renew Amb is? P2 is Diamond Elite for the next 3 months. Is it most optimal to sign up for Amb in January?

I renewed my Ambassador back in September & it extended my Spire/Diamond until 2024. So it wasn't just renewals at the end of the year.

Another data point: My account showed that I was Diamond until Dec 31, 2022 (even though we all know that IHG extended until end of Feb 2023.) Thanks to lack of travel during pandemic, there was no way that I would requalify for Diamond before that status expired at the end of this month. So I was hoping the Ambassador renewal would get me the extension. My Ambassador expires May 1, 2023. I tried calling to renew in December 2022, but they couldn't do it. Have been trying online during January but no dice.

Today is Feb 1, 90 days from expiration (OK, technically 91), and it allowed me to renew Ambassador. Checked my account right after renewal, Diamond has already been extended to Dec 31, 2024, and the 15K points for renewing with $$ are already in my account. New Amb Weekend free night cert is also in my account with an expiration of May 1, 2024.

I should be able to renew, and it gives me the link in my account page, but I can't get the website working. Is there a way to renew ambassador through the app that i am missing


edit: i got the site working, looks like there is no promo right now though? How often do they run promos where you get a bonus for completing a stay within X days of renewing? I'm in a weird where I completed the 10 nights required to keep diamond under the straight to diamond promo but my status still just shows diamond until dec 31 2022

I'm interested in this too. If I really have diamond until February 28 is it worth waiting to see if there's an ambassador promo between now and then?
