Some one has posted on Head for Points that this is a specific offer for Amazon employees so you are taking the risk that IHG revokes the status if / when ot discoveres you aren't one.

Leaving aside the eligibility question, do stays at Holiday Inn Express count or is it Intercontinental hotels only?

Theres nothing to suggest that it isn’t all IHG hotels that will count.

As someone who’s busted a gut in an endeavour to maintain Diamond status next year (and still hasn’t quite got there yet) this is extremely annoying and it cheapens the status.

Wink

It seems most OMAAT readers report success (USA) while some HfP readers report failure (UK)

I do think it is targeted and somehow became public....
1 - this promo link + 10 paid nights = diamond till 2023 : too much luck in keep convincing hotel owners to keep giving free breakfast
2 - normally Diamond threshold is much higher in both Nights/EQP or creditcard spend

important:
3 - i bet IHG while check if newly Diamonds using this promo will use the AMAZON corporate rate to book .....
if not...
If accounts get shut down + losing points due not being eligable ......... i know nothing, me no speak inglish

Completely agree. The idea behind a status that requires 120 nights a year, was presumably that it should have a fairly small membership group. Now that you can get it for 10 night that's really not going to be the case. When every other guest is a Dimond, we will effectively cancel each other out in the hotels eyes.

Earlier this year, it's been possible to get Diamond for 15 nights within 3 months. So 10 nights within 2 1/2 months doesn't sound unreasonable to me in comparison.

To make it fair to existing Diamonds, they need to run a “Straight to RA” promo for us.
