Does anyone know if there is any problem combining stays booked separately under different names? (i.e. for seaplane transfer)
For the Seaplane transfer, is that fee refundable if reservation is cancelled?

Awesome thanks! I stayed in the WA Maldives earlier this year, so looking into this on points/free nights.... I know it won't be as good, but this is probably one of the best global IHG redemptions I would imagine, happy to hear thoughts?

Hi all,
My family was lucky to have a great time at this resort back in March 2020. Beautiful island resort. Service was top-notch. Breakfast/afternoon tea were excellent with variety of foods and tropical fruits.
In the past, I loved flying to Maldives on Emirates A380 First Class with showers in flight. Now, with the increased number of miles/points for Emirates First Class, I think Qatar Qsuites easily became my favorite business class for long haul flights, especially for a family of 4.
I booked air tickets from USA to Maldives about 2-3 months before departure date, and made speculative booking for 8 nights at InterContinental Maldives. Then I continued to monitor other countries on how they handle Covid-19 to make final decision for our trip's stopover destination. About 2 days before departure, my trip was finalized: 5 nights in Maldives and 3 nights in Singapore.
This was the 3rd time my family have been to Maldives and Singapore in the past 5 years, so no need to research where to stay/what to do, and the remaining bookings were made fast.
Thanks to "All Club" benefits for all guests staying at the resort, our final bill at checkout was very minimal (under $300 for family of 4 for the entire stay).
I have both Chase IHG Select and Premier, so I was trying to stay for 8 nights at first, but then had to reduce to 5 nights.
1 night = 100,000 points
4 nights = 300,000 points (4th night free, from Chase IHG Premier)
after stay: - 30,000 points (10% rebate, from Chase IHG Select)
------------------------------------------------------
Total for 4 nights = 270,000 points --> 67,500 points per night.
I was only a Spire Elite during my stay, so no big upgrade other than to Lagoon Villa (which they would upgrade you anyway since it's good for families with kids). Standard room is Overwater Villa, which is small and good for 2 guests. My family did a downgrade the last 2 nights just to have true overwater experience.

Thanks for the wonderful review. I want to do the same trip next year. But the overwater villa which is bookable with points says sleeps 3 people. We are family of 4 (13 & 9 year old) and wonder if they let us stay in one room. Do you have any advice?
Edit: looking at your review more closely, I noticed that 4 of you stayed at an overwater villa for the last two nights. I guess they will let us stay in one room.

Evening all.
Interested how this location treats RA or A on points stays please? Any advice would be appreciated.
Got three weeks on points and would also appreciate any advice from regulars how best to spend time and indeed not spend time. I heard the water activities are good. Also the restaurants but interested in any menu/beverage specifics you might be able to share.
Many thanks

I finalized my booking here for February 2021 (fingers crossed it goes through!) and am a Platinum Ambassador, and will post here after my stay! I’m impressed you are doing three weeks - that is an amount of points I can only fathom! Do you stay in IHG a lot for work?

They will treat you well. You can expect a room upgrade, and free minibar for non-alcoholic drinks (also as an Amb).
It's "club" benefits and welcome amenity for all guests, so not sure whether a RA can expect anything more.
The quality of the restaurants is one of the highlights of the resort. Fish Market is great. The other places are nice and good quality as well. Prices for food were reasonable (taking into account the situation).

Ironically this is the first time I've ever used any for myself ... family and friends have burnt loads but this is first time to spend points. So although I have a good deal of experience on stays, I know virtually zero about points and treatment other than what I read on FT.
Would be very interested if you post a review about your stay experience .... it's always helpful even for those of us who been about a little. This place is entirely new for me so any photos, feedback, observations good or bad are appreciated by me and a lot of folks who read the IC thread.
