Another year, another Accelerate. Answers to some Frequently Asked Questions below:
For newcomers to IHG promotions, note that Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn (including Holiday Inn Resorts) are two different brand categories for these things. If your dashboard says 'stay at a Holiday Inn Express' as one of the tasks and you stay at a Holiday Inn, it will NOT credit for the Holiday Inn Express task. (and vice versa)
An award stay only counts toward a task that specifically requires an award stay and will not count toward other tasks and night requirements for the purposes of the promotion. (Award stays do count toward general elite qualification, but that's outside this promotion)
At IHG, points + cash stays are simply points stays where you bought some of the points at the time of the reservation. Once you finish the reservation, a points + cash stay shows as a points stay. Thus points + cash stays only count for tasks where they are specified, and not other tasks.
Doing a points + cash booking and then cancelling it does NOT trigger a 'buy points' task completion. A 'buy points' task is a points transaction that is processed through points.com
The 'pay with your IHG credit card' task has typically been very slow to post. If it does within about two weeks of completing a stay, that's relatively quick, and it will often be several weeks beyond that, depending on when your statement closing date is and how IHG's system sweep is timed.
Some offers require booking within the promotion period in addition to staying during the promotion period.

Don't think a points stay is classed as a qualifying stay although one task is to redeem at least 1000 points. Could blow 25-30k points for a night at the LAX CP to cover this but not sure if it would only count for the redemption and not "stay in 2 countries that aren't your own".

My residence is in UK. I had the Your Rate Bonus Points Package task. As usual I did not take notice and thought anywhere is OK. But upon check the terms and conditions today I notice only Your Raw Bonus Points in Asia Pacific excluding Greater China, Middleeast and Africa qualifies. Er......irretated but will have to give up on this one I think. Just a word of warning that do check the specific terms and conditions in case you are caught off guard.

This is ridiculous!
Points & Cash stays are not qualified and the CC spending on these P&C stays are not qualified either, even though paid $100++ per night to upgrade - what a racket!

Points and cash have always been Rewards nights. You are effectively buying the top up points to reserve a reward night. When you book a P&C night it clearly says Rewards night in the booking engine and will show as zero estimated points indicating it’s not a qualifying rate.
The CC task also clearly states in the T&Cs that the purchase must be a qualifying night - ie a paid night.

Why is it a racket?

- Points will be awarded for Qualifying Stays booked through IHG’s central reservation offices, IHG web sites, authorised travel agents (excluding online travel agents such as Expedia.com and booking.com, and unauthorised agents on online vertical travel portals), or directly at the hotel.
- “Eligible Charges,” except at Kimpton hotels, also include food and beverage, telephone, laundry, and in-room movies charged to the Member's room. Charges at restaurants not operated by the hotel may not be eligible for Points. Hotels may choose to award Points for other charges at their discretion.

Stay 2 time(s) using your corporate rate and earn 2,500 bonus points. Stays booked through your corporate portal count toward the promotion

I always get this task too, but unfortunately, I don't have a corporate rate to use. So I have been skipping this altogether.

One of my tasks is as follows:
Earn more at InterContinental®
Stay 7 nights at any InterContinental® Hotels and Resorts in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa and earn 6,800 bonus points
Based on the T&C, it seems that the new IC that has just opened in Singapore - InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is not in the list of participating hotels.

Just highlighting those who have this task and are intending to stay in this hotel to complete the task.

Accelerate tasks in email don't match site
I got an email from IHG today with the subject “King, get started on your 36,000 bonus points with Accelerate”. However, the tasks in the email don't match the Accelerate site at all. Has anyone else encountered this?
