For newcomers to IHG promotions, note that Holiday Inn Express and Holiday Inn (including Holiday Inn Resorts) are two different brand categories for these things. If your dashboard says 'stay at a Holiday Inn Express' as one of the tasks and you stay at a Holiday Inn, it will NOT credit for the Holiday Inn Express task. (and vice versa)
At IHG, points + cash stays are simply points stays where you bought some of the points at the time of the reservation. Once you finish the reservation, a points + cash stay shows as a points stay. Thus points + cash stays only count for tasks where they are specified, and not other tasks.

Would a reward stay that I book from my account for a friend count towards the "Earn When You Redeem" ?
Or does my name have to be as the primary guest on the reservation?

I'm sure I know the answer to this, but want to check.
If I book a stay at an IHG property for 3 nights during the campaign period, for me and a friend in a room each, does that count as 6 nights for Accelerate, or 3?

I believe you will earn points for both rooms as long as you've made the reservation, but you'll still only earn one night per...night.

I enrolled and checked my offers today. I got:
1) 5,000 - Stay once
2) 12,000 - Stay 6 nights
3) 16,800 - Stay at 4 HIX hotels
4) 6,000 - Weekend stay
5) 8,000 - Stay in any country in Europe, Greater China, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa
6) 2,300 - Pay for one stay on the IHG credit card
7) 25,000 - Complete 5 of the 6 above
8) 5,000 - Stay in September
Offers 1, 6, and 8 are pretty trivial. I can stay one night in September, pay for it with my IHG CC (which I pretty much always do anyway), and earn 12,300 points. Big ^ to IHG for including a few easily achievable targets once again!
I'm not sure I'll get much farther than that, though. Offers 2-3-4-5 are each a stretch. My travel has dropped way off in the past few months due to changes in my family situation. I haven't stayed in a hotel room anywhere since early June! And I have no international travel plans until February. So hitting enough of those offers to clinch the 25k bonus for #7 is close to impossible.
