JetPrivilege and Elite level experiences
Now that Jet Airways is flying international long haul, it seems that there are better opportunities to reach Platinum level easily and get some meaningful benefits.
Any experiences with top tiers on Jet?

Looking for feedback from US/Europe-India experiences flying Economy
What about non elite experience flying Jet EWR-BOM?
I usually fly NorthWest to India (previously Lufthansa). I chose to fly Jet this time. The on-line booking experience so far was not pleasant, I had multiple time outs each time I filled my whole bio-data and clicked on the pay button. When I finally did beat the clock it said they do not accept non Indian credit cards! I tried with a Master Card (previous attempt was a Visa) it went through. I never got a chance to choose my seats (which was bummer compared to any US airline). And now as I get ready to fly next week, I am told there is no web check in or tele-check in for non elite members. My enthusiasm to fly Jet to India sinking like the stock market this year. I am hoping we don't have any other surprises in store -like travelling from MSP to EWR and being told at check in you are bumped off!
I would be keen to hear feedback from those who travelled economy from US to India on Jet since their new service started. My experience of flying Jet in India has always been excellent. I think they are well set up to meet Indian market standards. But now having entered the US market they need to drum up their on-ground services including web check and seat selection which is a minimum. I definitely will not fly Jet airways next time regardless of my flying experience if they don't provide these minimum booking services. The worst thing is they quote fares in USD, convert to Rs and then have a higher USD amount when the statement comes through. They really need to put both their feet in the market they serve and not continue to believe they can enter foreign markets just by having their planes land off and take off from foreign airports without meeting local pre-boarding service standards.

Jet appears to have delusion of grandeur. Their web site is sloooow , ill designed and as you experienced full of bugs. They are basking on reports about their in flight service but their ground service, seat assignment, lounges are no where near International standards. Their international premium class fare are 20% higher than BA and hopefully their link up with AA will improve their attitude and service

website and seat assignment problems continue
The 9W lurker on this board seems to be more interested in plugging loopholes that provide visibility into availability and seat maps and less in using the inputs to fix problems.
The website and seat assignment issues continue to be a big problem with 9W. I had the same problem with website booking again.

The website has major problems now, as they are so popular, sorry to say! (I also am continuously frustrated at accessing online services nowadays!)

If you want, PM me, and due to my status I may be able to get something done to assist you...
Oh yes, LH is nothing better than Jet, in my opinion, and I had to get SEN status to get "premium" seats, which should also be offered to *G's - like some other *A members do on their flights... (SQ for example)

lounges
I liked the lounge in Brussels. It was large enough to accommodate the volume when I was there. The food was quite high quality (fruit salad with mango, papaya; a variety of cereals and yogurt, etc.). Not upto Wings in HKG or BA lounges in JFK/LHR but much better than AA lounges in Europe (though I'm OK with LAX flagship lounge). They did not have a wireless network, but you could use the wired LAN with DHCP or laptops provided by them.
I expect they'll provide much better lounges in the upgraded airports in India. I'll have to wait and see for that.

I've started liking Kingfisher First over J in Jet. kf treats their passenger slightly differently. In India they have a separate bus for the F pax so no need to wait for the entire bus to fill up and load before they take you to the aircraft and back to the airport. With Jet elite the only thing I've gotten some discount vouchers and upgrade coupons. Also for the last two times I've flown kf at MAA and HYD they had an agent meet me out side the airport and take my bags and bring me the boarding card and luagge tags while I was asked to wait directly in their lounge. so no need to go even to the checkin counter or get security screening of bags. they take care of that.

However, I wonder how it would be if they had full loads in business (do they?) - could they cope to provide this level of service to all KF pax?

MAA-DEL was full and service was good. Early morning flight to Delhi.
In fact if you ever get stuck at a long security line downstairs at the MAA dom airport their is a second security line up the escalator. Most pax did not seem to know about it (some days anyway) and the KF agent walked me through there while the wait downstairs was 30+ min.
However I was the only pax in HYD-PNQ. Perhaps as it was an late PM flight.

In the same Jet/IT/IC hall? Or is this where the other low-cost airlines board?
(calling hserus to the podium!)
A nice and interesting routing - on IT??

There's only one security area in MAA domestic - the "terminal 2" is merely an extension of terminal 1 with a different entrance, and all you find there are the checkin counters for LCCs, and a couple of X-Rays to pre-screen checked baggage.
There is an escalator going upstairs, just before security .. and a separate security checkpoint upstairs leading straight to the 1st floor gates (the ones with aerobridges).
But yes, I do remember jumping ahead of a long queue by going upstairs (only to land into a still longer queue upstairs after several dozen other people seem to have had the same bright idea as I did)
ps: HYD-PNQ was a DN route as far as I remember - IT tends to operate DN flights with an IT codeshare these days.

Pray tell, where might this "other" escalator be? I only have noted escalators *after* security, unless they have done something at MAA within the past 4 months...

HYD PNQ
At MAA dom once you enter you have the outside entrance into the hall and then another metal gate where they recheck your boarding pass (visitors are not allowed beyond this gate). Just past that metal gate on your right there is a tshirt/bookshop and an escalator adjacent to it. There is only one escalator going up and you cant miss it.
