There's only one security area in MAA domestic - the "terminal 2" is merely an extension of terminal 1 with a different entrance, and all you find there are the checkin counters for LCCs, and a couple of X-Rays to pre-screen checked baggage.

There is an escalator going upstairs, just before security .. and a separate security checkpoint upstairs leading straight to the 1st floor gates (the ones with aerobridges).

But yes, I do remember jumping ahead of a long queue by going upstairs (only to land into a still longer queue upstairs after several dozen other people seem to have had the same bright idea as I did)

ps: HYD-PNQ was a DN route as far as I remember - IT tends to operate DN flights with an IT codeshare these days.

In the same Jet/IT/IC hall? Or is this where the other low-cost airlines board?

(calling hserus to the podium!)

A nice and interesting routing - on IT??
