I usually fly NorthWest to India (previously Lufthansa). I chose to fly Jet this time. The on-line booking experience so far was not pleasant, I had multiple time outs each time I filled my whole bio-data and clicked on the pay button. When I finally did beat the clock it said they do not accept non Indian credit cards! I tried with a Master Card (previous attempt was a Visa) it went through. I never got a chance to choose my seats (which was bummer compared to any US airline). And now as I get ready to fly next week, I am told there is no web check in or tele-check in for non elite members. My enthusiasm to fly Jet to India sinking like the stock market this year. I am hoping we don't have any other surprises in store -like travelling from MSP to EWR and being told at check in you are bumped off!

I would be keen to hear feedback from those who travelled economy from US to India on Jet since their new service started. My experience of flying Jet in India has always been excellent. I think they are well set up to meet Indian market standards. But now having entered the US market they need to drum up their on-ground services including web check and seat selection which is a minimum. I definitely will not fly Jet airways next time regardless of my flying experience if they don't provide these minimum booking services. The worst thing is they quote fares in USD, convert to Rs and then have a higher USD amount when the statement comes through. They really need to put both their feet in the market they serve and not continue to believe they can enter foreign markets just by having their planes land off and take off from foreign airports without meeting local pre-boarding service standards.
I would write to them at: [email protected], and not only post here, so that something actually happens! (they do reply to our e-mails, and also try to resolve things to improve the customer experience!)

If you want, PM me, and due to my status I may be able to get something done to assist you...

Oh yes, LH is nothing better than Jet, in my opinion, and I had to get SEN status to get "premium" seats, which should also be offered to *G's - like some other *A members do on their flights... (SQ for example)
