Only regular rooms available - so I'd be going room to premium suite. Otherwise Id use a TSU.

Just a data point: I booked two rooms here for a stay 2 weeks ago, 4 nights. I used 2 TSUs to upgrade both to 1-bedroom suites and got 2612/14 for the king suite and 2711/12 for the 2-double. The layouts worked well for us but I inquired about upgrading one of them to the (available) Discovery Suite, and the lowest they would go was $500 CAD/night additional on top of the $280 nightly rate I was paying. I declined. They said they are no longer offering complimentary upgrades to that suite to Globalists, but who knows.

Overall the property was perfectly fine for the price point. Great location for what we did (Christmas market, Stanley Park, Fanny Bay oyster co, and a great meat shop (Sebastian & Co) for a charcuterie night back in the room). Breakfast was provided for all 5 of us (3 in one room, 2 in the other), and I like that the bill you sign has the "service charge included" stamp on it already so that you don't have to worry about whether the hotel covers gratuity for Globs (especially with $195 in breakfast each morning, I wouldn't want to risk double tipping or tipping zero).

Pool and hot tub were nice and warm... randomly overrun one day but otherwise not too crowded. Valet was expensive at $71/day (and only available 7am-midnight), but we had a Suburban and I didn't want to have to deal with parking that myself in the garage every day, so it was worth it.

Dim sum at Victoria Chinese in the attached mall was actually good. Brusque service but great food. Business center was also surprisingly good, it had a quality printer that I was able to print docs from (I had to run across the border to USPS one day in a pinch). Would stay again.

I searched a bunch of different dates and there aren't any suites available for any of them--does anyone know if something is going on?

First date I searched at random (Jan 18) had availability for 6 different kinds of suites, so... what dates are you searching?

I was looking in June. I just checked January and saw what you referred to, but starting Feb 1 there's nothing. I might just need to keep an eye on availability.

Was here Feb 8 for five days and the lounge was permanently closed. Buffet breakfast only for globalist at the restaurant vs. in the past where there was an option to order from the menu.

I don't think the suites are anything special. They upgraded me in January, they are just two adjoining rooms. Breakfast is Buffett downstairs. They had omelette station. Globalists can order fancy coffee. They didn't tell me day 1!

The suites are all offline due to a planned renovation.

Are points reservations also offline due to renovations? I can't find anything in June 2024 and have been looking for 6 months on out.

I booked a Saturday and Sunday night on points in June just a few days ago. You just have to keep an eye out.

I think the suites come out on the first of the month to book.

I think hotels for Vancouver in the summer are pretty difficult too. That's peak cruise season.

June is summer so award availability is going to be tough.
