Depends on what you consider central. There's the old central around Merdeka Square, new central around KLCC and new new central around TRX. Grab is quite inexpensive ($2-3 USD) so it doesn't really matter. However, it can surge 2-3X during rush hour. They also have the 1 Ringgit Go KL buses that have stops in front and behind the hotel.
We've been in the Hyatt Centric for a month now and really getting spoiled here. We had the entire place to ourselves in the beginning but they are slowly opening more floors and it's starting to get busier during the weekends. They are still in the growing pains phase and the staff are doing a heroic job when it's busy. Your experience can vary depending on how busy it is. Their croissants are quite legit and among the best I've had outside of France. Their breakfast is buffet style but has elements of sit down, that's why they aren't able to scale efficiently when it gets busy. The breakfast area also serves as their upscale Italian restaurant for dinner and is also quite good.
The room is a spacious studio style but very well thought out and no issues for a long stay at all. The public spaces are also very upscale.
As far as location, we like that the building is connected by bridge to Hap Seng 1 and 2, that have a few restaurants, Guardian, Family mart and 7-11. KL in general is not pedestrian friendly so you can be close to something that is not accessible or the walk is not very pleasant. It's very car centric, apparently the fault of Petronas.
We have globalist status and the staff already know us, which could be factor in our experience. Overall excellent value for 5K Hyatt points. I think it drops to 3.5K in March.

How is the breakfast at here?

absolutely fantastic! Tons of options. I don't even do breakfast. But because of jet lag and my work schedule I've made it in twice. It's a massive buffet with lots of options and an egg and pancake station. Lots of juices. Good service and views. Western and eastern options. The only con is the sausage is chicken and there's no bacon. But there's such a variety I don't even care. Too much to choose from for one day. Gotta mix it up.

is there plugs at the work desk? I could be wrong, but the round table doesn’t look to be very plug/connection friendly.

I just stayed here for a night while transiting between Brunei and the Middle East, and have the following feedback:
Can share photos later.
khabah
- The location is smack dab on Jln Sultan Ismail, less than a ten-minute walk to Suria KLCC, various malls and museums, abundant restaurants and just about everything else in central KL. The airport is about an hour away by car.
- As a Globalist, I was upgraded from a base king to a Corner Premium, one category down from the standard suite, which I believe is the Studio King. The Studio wasn't available but the next one up, the Suite King, was, but as it's a premium suite, I wasn't assigned one and didn't expect it.
- The Corner Premium is a beautiful, spacious room, with a long entryway, large bedroom and seating area looking down Jln Sultan Ismail, and a longitudinal, integrated bathroom and closet overlooking KLCC and the Petronas Towers. Furnishings and finishings were very high quality and everything was brand new. Lots of outlets throughout the room, with USB-C plugs integrated into the bedside which was a convenient touch.
- Breakfast at Il Forno on the 19th floor was a fantastic setup in a vibrant space with an expansive and high-quality buffet. There were local options like seafood fried rice and other bits, international staples, what appeared to be an incredible pastry section and so on; even the salmon in the cold cuts section was more sashimi-like than something smoked out of a pack.
- The rooftop pool on the 21st floor is lovely, with an infinity edge overlooking the Petronas Towers, KLCC and the urban landscape around the hotel. There are no locker rooms or a dedicated spa, with the bathrooms serving as the changing area and showers for both the gym and pool.
- Where the property trips up is with service; staff are young and well-intentioned, but the five-star finishing isn't there yet. For instance, I arrived around 2:30 PM and there was no room ready, but I was offered access to the pool for a swim and shower. When I asked about where I could get a drink, I was told at TanBuri in the lobby but wasn't offered one on the house, for instance. At the pool deck, I asked if I could order a drink and was told that the rooftop lounge/bar would only open at 4:30 PM so I couldn't order anything that wasn't the detox water sitting in a dispenser on the counter. I eventually got my room around 4:45 PM, and that was that.
Can share photos later.

The Hyatt Centric was an enjoyable experience that seems like an absolute steal at Cat 1 award prices. I enjoyed my 3-night stay, and here are my impressions and photos:
Pros:
Neutral:
Cons:
Photos (please expand the Spoiler tag):
Pros:
- Room is attractively designed
- Bed is comfortable - medium slightly plush mattress, covers of good plushness for climate, plush pillows
- Shower pressure is good - misty wand is strong enough and pleasant
- Offered 4 PM checkout proactively
- Breakfast is good - great fresh roti station and good omelets
- Given plenty of bottled water in the room
- Greeted by friendly GM at arrival
- Good Toto washlet
Neutral:
- Upgraded to Corner Premium, but the corner window was a tiny section in the bathroom facing an exit stairwell - there werent studios, but the fact that this hotel categorizes their suites as premium is not great to me
Cons:
- Nothing really - besides the upgrade paradigm

Spent 3 nights earlier this month. First stay here after previous stays at the GH, HH, and the Alila 3 times. Absolutely loved this hotel. It's my go-to moving forward.
Used an SUA into the studio suite. Yes, there's no living room/bedroom separation. But the space is enormous, views are great, and they provided a rollaway free of charge.
Location is solid-to-great. Nothing to complain about and honestly there's not necessarily any better location in a rather decentralized city like KL. Sometimes we need to be in Mont Kiara, sometimes in KLCC, sometimes in PJ, sometimes Desa Park City, sometimes Bangsar. I'm still a pretty active and fit guy (went on 30-60 minute runs around the immediate area) but I was telling my wife that someday if I am far less mobile and inactive, but needing to come to KL for our business or family, I could see myself staying at the Centric and having meetings/meals at the numerous fancy restaurants connected to the hotel via skybridge. Just another interesting element to the location.
Hard product was superb. I don't consider myself an expert, however I will say the decor, aesthetic, and comfort/functionality all seemed extremely on point to me. Yes the place is very new, but it just felt good to me in every sense.
Didn't run into any service issues at all. I am pretty low maintenance though and did not require much. Just one occasion I needed to print several important business documents, was told to send it over via whatsapp, and they were waiting for me at the front desk 30 minutes later.
Breakfast was very good. Restaurant vibe is superb, I'd give the selection a 9/10 and the quality an 8/10. A notch below the GH which stands out to me as probably the best I've had.
I figure I'll be back to KL usually twice a year, and this will be my go to spot moving forward. I'm still curious about the HR and the PH so perhaps I'll check them out when given a good opportunity, but I simply cannot imagine the value being better than the Centric.

Well, the noise!!
I stayed at the Grand Hyatt KL several times and thought it is a great hotel. This time I decided to try out a couple of the new hotels, the Centric and the Park Hyatt, after reading all the rave reviews. For context, I am globalist and paid cash for the Centric, which I found out is relevant for my impression of the Centric vs people who used points. For my stay the Centric was about 490 MYR and Grand Hyatt was 640 MYR or 30% more (For points, it was 3.5k vs 9k or 2.5 x).
Lets start with the goods.
The pre-arrival communication was impressive. They emailed me for my room preference, which I replied a quiet room with nice view. They quickly offered a couple of choices - high floor standard king room with a peaceful setting but no city view or Premier king with balcony with city view but can be slightly noisy at night due to street noise. The reason I requested a quiet room is because I dont want connecting rooms or rooms directly facing the elevator lobby because people can be talking loudly coming off the elevators. So I asked for the premier balcony room.
Now the bad.
Oh boy, little did I know the slightly noisy is such an understatement! I have stayed at several hotels with ear plugs on the night stand (most recently Park Hyatt Seoul), but never had to use them until now! The noise from the motorbikes at night was just horrible and constant. I think it is probably because of the balcony door being not as soundproof as the glass walls. If I were to stay here again, I will definitely avoid those rooms.
The neutral.
I thought the breakfast was fine, definitely much better than the so called breakfast they offered in the States, but I wont rave about it either.
Another reason I wanted to try this place out is because I thought it is a closer walk to the food street in Bukit Bintang. It is closer, but the walk is on uneven pavements whereas from the Grand Hyatt it is on a covered foot bridge.
The rooftop infinite pool is nice but the pool deck is small and cramped, and people were taking selfies left and right in the pool area.
The Gand Hyatt is charging less than US$40 more a night, with bigger rooms, much bigger and quieter pool area, nice and huge breakfast selection, the Grand club, and I usually get at least a Tower view room, I will definitely stay there over the Centric. But of course if you are using points then it is a different economics.

Sorry about the noise. I didn't notice any noise problem but we were on a high floor with no balcony so certainly may have been a different experience.

The main reason is that I have points stay booked for PH Kyoto, PH Tokyo and Rome in advance. In fact, I am in the hole with Hyatt.

Just finished a three night stay here on points (5,000/night). Used an SUA to upgrade to Studio Suite - at check-in, I asked if there was a cash fee to upgrade from Studio Suite to Premium Suite so for 289 additional MYR (roughly $75 or $25/night) we were upgraded to a Premium Suite. The hotel staff graciously allowed us to check into and occupy the Studio Suite until our Premium Suite was refreshed.
The room was quite nice with sliding walls as doors to separate the living/dining area from the bedroom and the bedroom from the bathroom. Full dining table with four chairs, nice walk-in shower, huge bathtub. Slightly over 800 sqft in total. (This is about a 100 sqft larger than the Studio Suite.)
Breakfast quality is very good; if I had a minor complaint it would be that it's exactly the same dishes every day. No rotation of food choices to provide variety. (First world problems, I know.)
Location is good to very good. KLCC Suria is a pretty easy 15 minute walk away and it's a $5 Grab ride away from KL Sentral. Monorail station is nearby. The interior walkway to the Menara Hap Seng buildings with restaurants, drug store, Family Mart, etc. is convenient.
As someone mentioned previously, there is a nightly motorbike racing of sort that (during my stay) was generally from 04:00 to 05:00 am. It's not only noticeable it's loud. Light sleepers may wish to pack earplugs.
