I just stayed here for a night while transiting between Brunei and the Middle East, and have the following feedback:
  • The location is smack dab on Jln Sultan Ismail, less than a ten-minute walk to Suria KLCC, various malls and museums, abundant restaurants and just about everything else in central KL. The airport is about an hour away by car.
  • As a Globalist, I was upgraded from a base king to a Corner Premium, one category down from the standard suite, which I believe is the Studio King. The Studio wasn't available but the next one up, the Suite King, was, but as it's a premium suite, I wasn't assigned one and didn't expect it.
  • The Corner Premium is a beautiful, spacious room, with a long entryway, large bedroom and seating area looking down Jln Sultan Ismail, and a longitudinal, integrated bathroom and closet overlooking KLCC and the Petronas Towers. Furnishings and finishings were very high quality and everything was brand new. Lots of outlets throughout the room, with USB-C plugs integrated into the bedside which was a convenient touch.
  • Breakfast at Il Forno on the 19th floor was a fantastic setup in a vibrant space with an expansive and high-quality buffet. There were local options like seafood fried rice and other bits, international staples, what appeared to be an incredible pastry section and so on; even the salmon in the cold cuts section was more sashimi-like than something smoked out of a pack.
  • The rooftop pool on the 21st floor is lovely, with an infinity edge overlooking the Petronas Towers, KLCC and the urban landscape around the hotel. There are no locker rooms or a dedicated spa, with the bathrooms serving as the changing area and showers for both the gym and pool.
  • Where the property trips up is with service; staff are young and well-intentioned, but the five-star finishing isn't there yet. For instance, I arrived around 2:30 PM and there was no room ready, but I was offered access to the pool for a swim and shower. When I asked about where I could get a drink, I was told at TanBuri in the lobby but wasn't offered one on the house, for instance. At the pool deck, I asked if I could order a drink and was told that the rooftop lounge/bar would only open at 4:30 PM so I couldn't order anything that wasn't the detox water sitting in a dispenser on the counter. I eventually got my room around 4:45 PM, and that was that.
All in all, from a hard product perspective, this hotel is beautiful and a wonderful addition to the Centric brand; I'm absolutely delighted by it and would return based on the room and breakfast quality. I would expect service to shape up as the team gains experience with time, so I'd check this one out again on a future trip to KL... after I pass through the GH and PH once it opens.

Can share photos later.
