Quote: Anyone know if you booked a points advance stay as a Globalist, whether the award amount is determined at the time of booking or when they deduct the points?
My apologies for my inaccurate information here supplied by Hyatt's own top tier Concierge line with an agent that has 15 years on the job at Hyatt
She sadly got this wrong it is not at the time of booking but when the points are deducted at a later date with the going point @ the redemption cost
I did verify this before posting with someone senior and yet ended up with a fried egg in my face.

It looks like the Hyatt Regency Yokohama has already gone up for bookings in March/April 2023.

Previous posts in this thread indicate it's when the points are deducted. See FlyerTalk Forums - View Single Post - Devaluation! New award category changes effective 3/22

Points need to be pulled prior to march 22 before category changes. If points arent attached to ressie than the higher rate would be pulled prior to arrival

Definitely taking advantage of the opportunity to snag a few more nights at the Confidante this Summer and in Key West this fall!

Quote: I”m jealous you were able to get those nights at the Alila properties. I continue to never be able to find availability.
The Napa property is pretty easy to book for sat stays if you live close by and monitor availability, we're actually at the hotel right now as 1 night sat stays open up maybe a week in advance when people are upgraded out of the base rooms. The hotel is fully booked out so only a minor upgrade to estate view, but hard to complain as I have absolutely zero hyatt status.

For Ventana I had to book 13 months out for date that the reservation agents couldn't even see as being available haha. Dunno if it was a bug but glad I was able to snag it, got thurs to sunday which I have never seen for closer in stays when I grabbed a past res on short notice.

I'm not in favor of this, of course, but I don't know if it's fair to say the program is being devalued.

The price of rooms are going up and up thanks to historic inflation. With most properties staying in the same category, points are becoming more valuable not less.

can someone confirm this with their concierge or other source? Before peak pricing went into effect I inquired about a points advance reservation I have in milwakee this summer. I was told that the points do not have to be pulled and the point rate booked in the point advance will be honored when they pull the points. Are category changes different?

never heard of this. Points are always pulled when reservation is made. Exception may be globalists who do not have enough points yet.

But even then I doubt it would be at the old rate and instead they would pull the amount needed the day its pulled.

I confirmed with Twitter. To be safe, I would pay the reservation before 3/22.
