I'm still being auto-logged out after every use. Hyatt's has become perhaps the most dysfunctional app that I regularly use.

Same here. Logged out every time I close (iOS swipe up) and reopen.

ORDtoAnywhere Feb 27, 2025 2:14 pm

I don't even need to force-close it to be logged out... if I go back in a few hours later, I still have to log in (Face ID doesn't even work). Maddening but something I'd imagine can be fixed pretty quickly (?)

Who to contact to report technical issues? Now when I try to log into the app it tells me my account has been locked. iPhone 16 updated. Deleted Hyatt app, reinstalled (says app updated 3 days ago), still won't work.

When you click on Send App Feedback in the Contact section (to report this ridiculous log in bug), you get a completely irrelevant survey…

I called the “Global Contact Center” per message in app telling me my account was locked. She said no one else has called about app problem. Her only advice was to change my password, which I did via the link she sent. So far so good, it seems to be working properly again for me.

Now can't log-in at all - "server error"

Will add that the log-outs are particularly annoying because of this app's non-standard log-in protocol, which requires both last name and member number plus a password. This confuses Apple's password manager, which always tries to replace the member number with my last name, resulting in a failed log-in.

I'm going a bit off-topic, following up on the password manager issue.

Member number, last name, and password is what I enter at the web site, but Firefox's password manager only recognizes the password field, leaving me to enter my member number and name. My question is how do password managers work? Is it poor coding that confuses the password managers, because the fields are not identified correctly? Is there anything a user can do to educate a password manager?

My experience with LastPass previously and 1Password currently is that you can add additional fields to the entry for a website and it will fill those in along with the password -- this seems to work by detecting the HTML label on the input field when you saved the entry for the site, and if it detects a matching labeled input field when you click to fill, it will auto-fill that field as well. For Hyatt the last name field is labeled lastName (not sure if capitalization matters).

I've never used a built-in browser password manager but would guess they have a way to do this as well.

Probably an issue with certain subset of phone models, haven't experienced this yet myself

Which iOS version are you on? It was really annoying but it's working properly for me for a long time now.

Curious if this is a thing.

It's also happening to me. It logs me out all the time if I close the app. I'm on the newest IOS and iPhone. It never happened until the most recent app update.

ElevatorEnthusiast Feb 28, 2025 1:38 pm

I see a new version of the iOS app just released. Have not had the chance to test out if it fixes this bug (mine is iPhone 16 Pro Max on iOS 18.3.1).

Edit: Opening the app after updating, and I was still logged in!

Yeah, the problem is the Hyatt app, not the iOS version.

It appears to be cured for me (at least temporarily) as of about 30 minutes ago.

It’s working normally for me again since this morning!
