Does not look like anything Hyatt. Looks worse than a former AmeriSuites.

Joke aside, it appears Hyatt is using the same strategy Hilton has employed with the Resorts World property. The product at Resorts World is far diluted compared to a typical even US Conrad. Compared to an Asia Conrad that Resorts World Conrad is many levels lower.

At least these are pretty large rooms but who spends much time in the room in Las Vegas anyway? I get that Rio was suites and that is why it has such big rooms...

It looks like a typical “Vegas” hotel room, I’d say 7/10 would definitely try it out if it get a sub $50 rate. I generally get comped rooms at MGM so I don’t spend on rooms but I’d do it to try it and for the EQN if it’s $50 or less.

Indeed, if the price is right, I will give it a try. I am not interested in a strip property (traffic, hassle getting there) since our trips are F&F visits, not gambling/shows. A clean room, comfortable bed, and (this is probably an issue) easy access without walking half a mile from the parking lot through a casino are all I need. Don’t have Glob, so glob elite benefits are not likely an issue.

(obviously, the Rio isn’t necessarily looking for customers like me)

Looks more like 2005 IMHO, which I’m fine with. Stayed in plenty of hotels that look older.

Appalling for a newly renovated Hyatt Regency.

With all the other options in Vegas, I would not even consider staying here unless I were truly desperate for WoH night credits.

Will take a drive over there when i'm back finishing up my last three, previously-booked vdara stays.

I've endured too many Hyatt Place LAS (near Airport) - that I'm finally trying the Hyatt Place Silverton Village (with a rental car).

If the RIO opened with a real nice WOH treatment, waived fees/breakfast/etc - I would happily stay there off strip at a better rate than the strip, I'm there to work.

Have you stayed at a HP??? It does not look anywhere near any of the dozen plus HP properties I’ve stayed at, not even close. It definitely looks more like a 2005 Hyatt Regency, much more than any HP.

There was an article in the past week that mentions Rio’s own loyalty program — no mention of Hyatt Regency at the property, etc.

I wonder if they are abandoning the Hyatt branding and will just offer reciprocity.

Quote:
Eventually, he said, a new loyalty program would be rolled out and the property will have an affiliation with Hyatt Hotels, which will give the Rio the advantage of being able to market to that company’s loyalty card membership and strengthen convention business.”

The word choice of “affiliation” does not seem very strong — maybe it’s just my take.

New details emerge on big Rio renovation, Fontainebleau opening

It'll be exactly like Resorts World and Cosmo - Hyatt flag for the hotel, Dreamscape loyalty program for the casino.

Penn & Teller should perform their magic on the Rio's new rooms...

It looks okayish in a plain jane style....
Can they conjure a more USP theme suitable to one of Hyatt's brands ?

The Hyatt Place Silverton is pretty nice. Make sure you get a room that faces West... the highway noise on the East side rooms is irksome.

What we really need is a Hyatt property in the Summerlin Area.
