I received information from the folks at Hyatt that is does qualify @ Rio for Bonus Journeys
perhaps off topic my best talent here I also asked if Issuing a guest of honor reservation which does get
the member giving the gift a one night EQN that will not qualify for Bonus Journeys promotion

Just booked 3 midweek nights at the end of March. Rooms were $21.75 pre resort fee. I hope someone can verify that resort fees are removed for globalists before then. We are Staying at NYNY, but getting breakfast at HHAGG for my family along with the extra points would be awesome.

If so, I'm not fond of that because it puts globalists at their mercy to get the resort fee off of the bill? Is there a way to make a reservation - on the Hyatt website - that wouldn't have the proposed resort fee tagged on?
I guess you had not stayed at any MGM properties for the past two years when Hyatt partnered with MGM, as even we were MGM gold, at the booking page, resort fee still show up, but it is not taken out until you check in

This is not a property-by-property rule. It's the rule at any Hyatt, anywhere.

Not just MGM, resort/destination fee will show on pretty much any Hyatt reservation, regardless of Globalist status.

You're saying you plan on ubering your family to Rio for the breakfast?

I think this is the least inclusive resort fee I have ever come across with Hyatt. Guess that explains the $20ish weeknight rates available here. Glad Globalists are exempt!
A daily resort fee of $40.00 (subject to change) is applied to each room of your stay in order to provide the following services and amenities, which enhance the guest experience. Please contact the hotel directly for more information.
High-Speed Wifi for 4 Devices Per Room
Unlimited local calls
Fitness Center Access

We will have our car with us. Already have comped rooms at NYNY. $21.75 for breakfast for the 4 of us, along with the bonus journey definitely is worth it.

If it is closed I wouldnt go there. No cat food for me
The feral cats have actually moved to the Luxor now that the renovation has begun.

If this is indeed how benefits will work here, you better get it while it lasts, which will assurdly be a short time. Add the "I'll drive over with my entire family every day for a 20 dollar free breakfast at hash house" crowd to the inevitable scum bag attention whore blog o sphere, and it will disappear soon I'm sure. This is why (if correct with regards to benefits) we can't have nice things, because everyone instantly tries to figure out a way to smash and exploit it to absurd levels.

It is a particularly rediculous resort fee. They aren't even pretending it covers anything. Wifi? Any World of Hyatt member gets it free. Local Calls? Who the heck uses a hotel phone for anything other than calling within the hotel? Access to the fitness center? Well, thats the only one that makes even a tiny bit of sense but $40 a day...that better be the most amazing fitness center ever....

I love the "local calls" part. Like it costs any more to make a long-distance call within the US these days? Only non-US guests with non-US cell phones could use this, and it's still pretty useless.
