I received the below email and completed the online check-in process prior to arriving at the hotel. Once there I was able to skip the line by completing the check-in process at kiosks sitting next to the hotel registration area by scanning the QR code within the email. The kiosk revealed the room number and issued a room key. Unsure whether completing just the online check-in portion would support a ghost stay - I suspect that it would not.

The 1 Bedroom Suite 1 King Bed is a Standard Suite according to Hyatt.
Of course there are plenty of suites on hyatt.com - but the ones you quoted are all the unrenovated kind. I would definately not want to stay in one of these…

I was referring to the suites marked as already being renovated: Those can be found regularly on riolasvegas.com but not (or rarely - example in post #306) on hyatt.com.

Was your ID required to check-in at the kiosk?

That seems to be a mistake that Chase/Hyatt need to fix. Dont let them get away with it.

Was a billing summary displayed during kiosk check-in? Wondering if resort fees were included and/or automatically removed if globalist.

The staff does know, and they know about 4 p.m. late check out, breakfast, free water, and removing resort fees. Arrived very late last night and had a great experience with the delightful woman who checked me in. She said lots of Globalists had been asking for suites; however, the suites in the Ipanema have not completed the updating yet. I asked when that might be done, she checked with a manager, and his response was end of the month (March). For those fussed about suites, you might want to take a look at the Rio first. It has a long way to go to feel even comfortable. A far cry from any of the MGM properties. I'm saying this as a person who was fine with a Luxor tower room (for late night arrivals or early morning flights). As mentioned, I arrived very late and parked in the front lot--scary, I was worried about the safety of the rental car plus, of course, my own safety. Should have pulled into valet and let them park the car, also that's closer to check-in. I hoped to use Rio as my new place to stay for my monthly Vegas visits. Even at $22 and free breakfast, I am going to rethink that. Maybe it will feel better in the daylight. I like to walk and no way am I going to get my steps in at Rio like I do on the Strip/MGMs. Maybe Rio will look better in daylight. Of note, I asked about breakfast hours and she said Hash House A Go Go is open 7a-4p, so theoretically breakfast can be during those hours. Quite a few people in the casino, on a Tuesday night. Grabbed a to-go sandwich at the Sports Deli, pricey at $17 - $20, but good. Really hard to envision how this place is going to become some version of Hyatt.

Any idea when the pool will reopen? Even $22 is too much of the kids can't swim.

Thanks, I'm there in a couple of weeks, not staying at the Rio, but will do a mattress run for a couple of nights. Can't beat $61/night. it would have been nice to get an extra 1000 points.

I'm also back in April and will do a 4 nights, so 2000 points then

(and for the record, I would only book the HP Silverton, not the older property next to the Hofbruhaus. Even if it is often cheaper, it is just not any good)
Everything is subjective there is truly a customer for everything even Econo lodge Red Roof inn even
the old tired Hyatt Place a former tired Amerisuites etc
Weekend rates easily go for the Silverton Hyatt Place 300
I will likely never book either Hyatt Place Las Vegas properties the old one for obvious reasons
and the new one while better has noisy rooms from traffic
and lights blinking in my eyes from their weird shades.Nice property itself otherwise.
As a Glob never once put on a high floor and the breakfast well to each their own.
One mans happiness is another mans misery.

I read how horrible one dated Hyatt Regency was (a different city) and loved it.Many said online don't go
Great breakfast nice upgrade and enjoyable stay at a great price point
So eyes of the beholder as to taste preferences ect. I'm a full service property guy.
Its the very rare limited service property I aspire to stay in
I don't think most go to Las Vegas to stay in a limited service property with bland offerings
like a Hilton Garden Inn (certainly some do)
That said there is a really nice newer HGI on Dean Martin Drive no casino and even better close to
City Center one of the hot spots on the strip

ID was not required at the kiosk, but probably because I was able to scan my ID during online check-in.

Hi - if I booked a room yesterday for a 4/24 stay, would that count towards my nights or do I have to wait until 4/1 for bookings to be effective under Hyatt?

I seem to recall that there was a billing summary that showed the daily room charges but don't remember whether resort fee was shown as well. For what it is worth, the daily charges shown within the Hyatt app do not include resort fees.

My first night's deposit also did not include the resort fee.

Interesting. So you could conceivably OLCI from anywhere as long as you have a person physically complete the kiosk portion for you.
