I am not a globalist, and I am not even logged in, but in my experience whenever I search for award nights at the Rio the results always and only include renovated rooms. If I booked such an award, I would certainly NOT expect or accept an upsell to tha5 room category for $40.

They will still manually adjust your account with the missing points though. Just a PIA

I tried 4 times Chase said no each time citing Rio is not officially a Hyatt yet and they provided guidance from Hyatt confirming this too apparently.

That's ridiculous of them. I'd escalate the issue considering Rio can be booked directly through Hyatt.com. Screenshot this page and link them: https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/hotel/ne...d-casino/lasdh

Also point them to the Hyatt Card Rewards Program Agreement: https://www.chase.com/worldofhyattcard/rewardsagreement

Youll earn:
> 4 Bonus Points for each $1 USD spent on purchases 1 made at Hyatt hotels and resorts (including at participating restaurants and participating locations that are owned, managed, franchised or licensed by Hyatt Corporation or its subsidiaries or affiliates), on FIND experiences purchased directly at hyatt.com/FIND, at participating SLH properties, and on Lindblad Expedition experiences purchased directly through the World of Hyatt Program.

according to Hyatt BRG, this property is an unbranded property (and also confirmed by consumer affairs.)

Basically just a non-participating property. Theres nowhere that says just because it participates in WOH means that it participates for the credit card.

I was told thatll likely happen down the road when construction is finished and its given the Destination Hotels badge.

I'd expect them to make a one-time goodwill exception and credit the 4x points on previous charges.

I'd like to know how we are supposed to make an informed decision then, on which properties qualifies for 4x points. Seems like a sh!tty way to treat your customers.

Do you have the Biz card or personal? I have the personal and both transactions at Rio in April for hotel stays did not qualify. I contacted Chase and was told its not a participating Hyatt property.

I dont think Chase allows exceptions for bonus points to partners. If it the issue was on Hyatts end like not earning the 5 points per $1 spent then sure Hyatt could easily credit that, Chase in my experience is more rigid.

In early April, I requested an adjustment and also requested them to submit a ticket so it will be fixed on the backend. Here's their response:

"Russelljohnson, we appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. We added 210 reward points to your account to complete the 4x points earn on your Hyatt transaction. Because your card earns rewards through one of our partner loyalty programs, they will transfer to your membership account within 30 days of your next billing cycle.

Please be assured we've forward your feedback to the appropriate area of Chase for their review. While no immediate changes may be made, we always welcome and appreciate feedback from our customers as it allows us the opportunity to improve."

For Rio? My stays were that same timeframe and was denied multiple times.
