Mod note
Discussion of the Rio in comparison with other options for Superbowl weekend was starting to "outgrow" the property thread, and has been moved to: Rio/other Hyatt options for Superbowl weekend (Feb 11, 2024 in Las Vegas)

Losing the MGM properties was a big blow to Hyatt. I am planning on going to Vegas this coming Sunday and the only choices are HPs. I wanted to try the RIO but it’s still not part of the WOH.

Thanks for the info and just cancelled a booking here for a stay two days later...
I'm shocked that something I booked thru Hyatt app does not bring me any elite benefits, why would I ever want to do that?

I ended up booking Palazzo on 12/31 to use up our AMEX FHR credit from last year. I would have loved to have paired that with something Hyatt friendly. Instead we booked Circa for three nights. I would not book Rio short of a full renovation down to the studs and a complete revamp of the property. We went to see Penn and Teller at Rio on our last trip, and I just can't imagine staying there overnight. Even the public areas were in sad shape and parts of the casino looked completely dead on a Saturday night.

Exactly what I've said. I'm sure there are people who book and don't notice the message about no world of hyatt, because they just assume anything booked on Hyatt is going to be... you know, a Hyatt property. Can't imagine it isn't more problems than it's worth having it on the site and bookable with no benefits or credit.

I need to be in Vegas early April for my daughter's sports competition at Westgate. The group rates there are not better than whatever they have on the website, so I decided to look around.
Booked Rio for $29+39 resort fee (including the weekend), at this rate staying 4 nights is less than half of all other alternatives. If the hotel joins Hyatt by that time will consider staying. Will be especially interested if they might not charge a resort fee for Globalist? I guess I might put whatever money I save towards many Ubers back and forth

I can somewhat understand that hotels in the process of being fully integrated may not offer benefits/points etc, I am more surprised by hotels that are on hyatt.com for "ages" and you do not offer the benefits. e.g. Galleria Park Hotel San Francisco

The ownership switched the management from Two Roads (Hyatt) to Coral Tree yet never took down the Joie de Vivre signage from the building. You ask the front desk people and they're sick of saying they aren't part of World of Hyatt but have no explanation for the semi-affiliation. Seems like a contract dispute that was never resolved.
